Great volunteers and staff who work diligently to rehome Brown County's fur babies that were left behind. Great location, beautiful building and even better place to pick up your new best friend.

This shelter is AMAZING! All of the staff are very friendly and clearly care for every animal in the shelter. This is a clean, safe environment for sweet animals that need forever homes.

Rude rude rude. If you want to adopt your animals out, I would refrain from yelling at the people who come to meet the animals. And it might be good to be kinder to volunteers.

Brian and staff are awesome! Just adopted Audrey to share love with us and great dane puppy! The staff are very knowledgeable about a meet and greet with their dogs. Thank you!

Check bchumane.org. I'm sure they have pup availability change often
Our available dogs are at https://www.bchumane.org/available-dogs/. The site gets updated frequently so check back often. It will have each dog's weight, so you'll be able to tell how big they are. The smallest one on our website right now is a Beagle mix, Fred, that weighs about 40 pounds.
At this time, the cost for a male cat neuter is $35. If the cat is not current on his rabies vaccine, that will be an additional $17 to cover that. If you are interested, please contact our SPOT coordinator to request an appointment. The number for that is 812-703-0797. Thank you!
Yes, currently they are only allowing visits by appointment only. Give them a call to set one up
The Brown County Humane Society is only able to take in cats and dogs.
Give them a call or check their website...small dogs are typically adopted quickly, so be sure to check often!
Hello, thanks for your question! Our adoption fee for cats is currently $55 for cats six months and older and $85 for kittens under six months. All cats will be spayed/neutered, microchipped and will have age-appropriate vaccinations.
Adoption fees for cats are: $85 for kittens up to 6 months $45 for cats 6 mo. - 7 years $25 for cats over 7 years
There is only one location: 128 IN-135 Nashville, IN 46448
All adoptable pets are vaccinated before they leave the shelter but we do not provide vaccinations to the public at the shelter. We have a low-cost clinic once per year for Brown County residents where you can get the yearly vaccines and rabies vaccine. It's usually in April. You can check out our website for the exact date: www.bchumane.org
All month of April 1 dollar spyed/ nurt.
Although occasionally an animal is brought in too sick or weak to save, an animal is never put down because of the length of time he's been there, or because of difficulty in finding a forever home. The save rate has been around 95% for many years.
