Beautiful place and easy to find. Careful of rocks walking down

Once a great place to go and cool off has become an overcrowded trash dump. Very sad and unfortunate. Too many people come to enjoy it and at the same time trash it. “Pack it in, pack it out” its not understood by the vast majority…

Unless you know to look for it this hidden gem is easy to miss, but a beautiful little detour coming to or from Yosemite. Definitely worth dipping the toes in the cool brisk water.

Beautiful little area to chill and cool off. We were headed to Yosemite falls but didn't realize that they required reservations to enter the park. By the time we tried to buy tickets, it was all sold out so we headed to rainbow pools. We drove on the motorcycle and I didn't have clothes to get in the water so that was a bummer for me but my son fully enjoyed nonetheless. Definitely will go back for a swim soon to enjoy the cascades. Maybe a weekday will be better as it got pretty crowded yesterday.

its 6am to 8 pm I would like to remember park hours normally as sunrise to sunset as a rule of thumb.
I honestly to the best of my knowledge wanna say it's open 7 days a week until 6pm
Yes just this week on sunday it was closed due to a death from what i read
It's a little cold but after you get used to it. Not bad at all. It's safe for the most part.
It has picnic tables and four bbq's but their are endless miles of fun to explore along the river~or just chill and watch people jump the falls. It's an all day destination.
Yes
Sweetwater Creek Campground is almost right across the street up Highway 120 less than half a mile
It's in the Stanislaus National Forest on the the way to Yosemite from Groveland
It's open all year and there are hiking trails leading away from it. Rainbow Pool is a great place for swimming!
No, there are no bbq pits there. We brought sandwiches and snacks
It is open all day besides sunset to sunrise. Swimming is allowed whenever but during windy days the current is stronger and you could get swept away. Usually you can swim in it. Yesterday I did and the water was perfect
Unless something has changed, there is no swing. The pool is about 50'x60' when full. Not sure what it looks like at the moment. It didn't used to dry up ever, bit not sure what things are like with the drought.
Better at upper falls nothing big but fun. Don't go when busy too many people.
Pretty sure they kick at night but from morning till then it's just an occasional park custodian doing rounds. Nobody bugged us but bring a bag and do the good dead of cleaning up for some of the lazier visitors.
