Being here causes you many emotions why so many puppies kittens and you don't know which one to choose they give tenderness why you find all the breeds happy sad faces so going to an adoption place is nice but it also breaks your heart
Matthew Milo (Seven Easy)
Unprofessional, unhelpful, and rude woman Jessica up front took great pleasure in providing no assistance. Denied me adoption based on a simple miscommunication/misunderstanding about paperwork; then placed blame on me and said I was "unable to understand their system" and that she didn't have the time. Told me she didn't believe I would follow through and that my cat would be adopted before I could figure it out, then ignored me to chat with another customer about puppies. When I asked for her name she finally provided some information, counter to what she previously said, but I felt so disrespected at that point I opted to leave. I would greatly recommend BARCs or any other shelter for adoption for those who like to be treated with respect.

Very rude lady on phone. I just want help for these stray newborn kittens that were about to get mauled. I bought kitten formula but even after watching videos donβt know how to get them to eat. Called this place and briefly told her I need help and she cuts me off βare you from the city or county??β I said city but I could drive there as soon as possible. She says βno you have to take them where youβre from.β Like clearly if anything was open here I wouldβve done that yesterday. I really hope my best for these kittens is good enough, but if the staff is anything like that lady who seems to hate her job, please donβt take pets here. Very disappointed with the almighty Howard County.

No it is not! Do not recommend. I was told one thing on the phone and completely switched after the kitty was in the officers car!
Not that I know of but I could look into it. Did you ask on nextdoor
Ahmed is right. I don't remember exactly, but I think the total cost is less than $100, which covers spaying or neutering and the first shots.
Yup they do
Yes the do they have lots
Older than 18 years-old
You need to call an animal trapper. Ho Co does not trap critters inside your house. There are a good selection of them online in our area.
They take all types of different donations.
I believe you must be at least 18 years old.
Not sure what you mean?
It might be worthwhile to call and speak with someone, explain your idea, and see what might be helpful as donations of all kinds are needed and collected.
The cost depends on what services are needed, and even then, some are donated. We just adopted and our little guy was free. I think the maximum cost was around $150.
It's different for females and males of both species. I know cats are a maximum of $161 for females and $141 for males.
Call the listed number and they can help you with that.
It varies depending on size, age, medical conditions, etc. I adopted my Mastiff for $56 from there, just as an example.
it depends..we got our dog there.she was 19lbs .40 dollars..4 years a go....we lost her had to put her down Dibeites
Do you know if they can get a kitten neutered if they are your kitten and didnβt get them from this SPCA? They were stray kitten that I got from a friend in VA?

Yes. I would call first, if you plan on keeping them.
Look at their adoptable pets here https://www.petfinder.com/search/pets-for-adoption/?shelter_id%5B0%5D=MD106&sort%5B0%5D=recently_added
Are you asking about the requirements at the shelter for cats or for the county those are two different questions
the staff and dog and cat people come to take them out .that cats have a outside in close area and dog walkers
I'd definitely give it a shot, I think they will help
They are always happy to accept donations of unopened food and new supplies.
You need to call and see but if they don't have a Pet you are interested in there is also a No Kill Shelter right before you get to the Howard County Animal Control? I know he has a lot of cat's and dog's looking for forever homes.
You should be able to get your license where ever you get all your shots at I know that Petco has a Mobile Vet that comes 2 times a month and very cheaply.
There are only a few places that actually do the cremations. This is usually arranged through a veterinarian office.
Yes you can. The staff are very friendly. Go adopt a dog.
These questions don't go directly to Animal Control, but they get different animals all the time. Your best bet would be to call them to see what animals they have at any given time.
Absolutely, and meet it as well. The handlers encourage anyone who will spend time with the pet to meet / play with it to see how you interact together. They may ask questions of you also to see if you will be a good fit.
HCAC only deals with domestic animals. It sounds like you need a pest control company.
Um all shelters dont have puppies I been looking I live in cc and they dont have puppies and they never do they only have a year and older
The breeds vary one day to the next. You may want to call the shelter directly to inquire. Best of luck in your search!
As far as I know, they are no-kill. Their desire is to find suitable homes for the animals.
What I know is they have many programs to find homes for as many adoptable pets in order to decrease the number of animals euthanized at the local animal control facility. I don't think they euthanize for space - the equivalent of a no-kill shelter. I would call them to make sure your dog would be accepted with no negative consequences. It also may depend on the circumstances. They offer many options, so you have nothing to lose with a phone call.
Three days is pretty typical. They need to meet all the people who will live with the pet, check your references, maybe interview someone, then send the animal to be neutered, get shots, etc. You pick your new pet up from the vet.
Sometimes. Check out the website.
Go to Animal Control & talk to the handlers. They will tell you about the animal & ask you some questions to get a feel for how ready you are to adopt. You fill out the adoption paperwork/contract and pay the required fee (which covers having it spayed or neutered if it hasn't been altered yet, vet's exam, updating its shots if necessary & the license). It an easy process once you find the right animal ... or it finds you.
Sometimes they have rabbits.
We are adopting a tiny one year old cat and we live close by. All we are taking is a pet carrier. Please call the center for advice regarding your particular situation.
Yes I would definitely call & ask. Mainly because they do try to keep their wedsite up to date, but sometimes it's just not.
Are there any animal control places in pg county that would come get a racoon out of the attic for residence without it costing too much
