Called about a dog that was abandoned, they said she wasn’t available until two days later after going In person to meet the dog, they said they were going to hold her longer. Ask if I could put in my adoption paperwork for her and they said no. On Facebook they said she would available another two days later, first come first serve. Got there 30 mins before they open and another person was able to adopt her the night before. Shady business going on here and would never adopt from them.

I went there to start volunteering to walk/run the dogs. The women who work there are very nice as are the animal control men that came in and out while I was there. Every dog has a good sized water pail and fed well plus lots of treats for everyone! They could use more dog walkers though, should anyone be willing to spare some of their free time 😊❤️

I have unfortunately rescued 6 dogs in the Hoke County area and would have liked to keep each one but couldn't because I have dogs. I've been able to bring each of them here and they've taken them right in and everyone has been adopted. This is a GREAT place and really cares about all the animals. Thank you for all you do.

I would call the shelter in the morning when they open. They will provide you all the information you need.
You could take it to the hoke county pound I don't work there but you could call them and see if they could help the cat
You can apply for care credit :) and if you dont qualify, you can always get insurance on your animals. Alot of insurance companys do it. Im not.sure what all it is because ive never had it but it might be worth looking into
No fee. Call for additional information.
Contrary to what Myrical Tucker advised, you need to contact animal control and file a complaint. As difficult and painful as it can be, by interfering in the care of your neighbors' pets, you could make it more difficult for animal control to get an idea of actual conditions. You could also set yourself up for possible litigation by the owners. For example, what if their pets have food allergies and you feed them the wrong thing? Have you tried talking to your neighbor directly? Perhaps you could give them a list of local resources that could help them. They might have a family situation going on and are trying to juggle their resources as best they can. To recap: try approaching your neighbor then contact animal control if necessary.
You're not clear on when this happens. Are you visiting your neighbor? Is the dog tethered? Is the dog running loose/at large? If you're visiting your neighbor when this happens, ask them to pen the dog in another room during your visits. If tethered, stay away and don't interact with the dog. If loose, try to remain calm. Cross your arms over your chest and avoid making direct eye contact. Stand sideways and back away slowly. If you have to speak use a low, soothing tone. Most dogs bite out of fear, so avoid anything that makes the dog feel threatened. Biting is dangerous behavior. If your neighbor is aware his/her dog is aggressive, and isn't taking training steps to address this, then contact animal control.
Call them they can give you the right information
