Very clean! Easy parking! Lots of activities to do with kids of all ages! The exhibits very open and had multiple areas to view the animals. First experience and I already want to go back.
autumn rogers
A little on the pricey side being $16 per adult ticket as well as expensive food. Other than that the experience is great, the exhibits are very nice. There is a lot of running water for many of the animals which is necessary. It took about 2 hours for 2 adults to go through. The boat ride is pretty neat. There has been a lot of construction the last few years, lots of changes being made, but I always go back every summer.

Great place for the kids. I would highly recommend to buy a season pass, just 2-3 visits pay for the pass itself. For younger ones I would bring or rent a stroller. I would also bring your own drinks as it could get expensive with multiple kids. But all in all a great family place!

Always a fun time at the zoo in Fort Wayne! From the sky lift over the safari to the Indiana farm petting zoo, there are animals everywhere although some are pretty good at blending in to their surroundings. The monkeys and seals are adorable, while the carousel and train are fun for all ages. The zoo is very well maintained and clean and the staff is friendly. Bring a snack and drink for yourself and the kiddos, it's allowed, which makes the trip more affordable for families. It's a great way to spend the day!

My boyfriend and I spent about 4 hours there, but it might take longer depending on what time you go and what attractions you're wanting to do such as the Safari Sky Ride or Feeding the Giraffe.
Yes
they're currently hiring for the Halloween event on indeed.com so I would say so
Its the same everyday. Adults are $15, children are $10 and babies 1 and under are free i believe. If needed more info just go to kidszoo.org
Animals have always been more active and people have been less on rainy days so honestly this would be the type of day I like to go.
Yes
I don't think they allow dogs unless it is a service animal.
Not specifically but there are multiple large parking lots and when I was there there were about 4 charter busses parked in one of the lots so there is room for them.
I wish I had good news for you about this topic but there is sanctuaries that take these beautiful cats on and protect them and they're trying to get there ones in there wild and being them there so they can live a long healthy safe life. I really wish there was more that could be done about this because in all honesty that's my favorite wild cat and they're so beautiful and majestic. I will look into this and hopefully be able to give you more good news about this subject.
Signs say required. We did wear one to enter and then didn't wear one the rest of the time. We were outside the whole time and it wasn't busy.
Masks are required for over 8 yrs old $15 adults, $10 kids. But there are timed tickets for events and things are always changing, be sure to check out their website for the latest kidszoo.org
They said only 50% capacity but it had at LEAST 80% I think they will let anyone in mabye a VERY slight chance you can't go
The rides take tokens, the tokens are $1 ea and like the ski ride for instance take 2 tokens. If I recall, all the rides were 2 tokens each per person.
Weekdays are going to be filling up in early mornings making early arrivals difficult as school groups take their early ERA's. After 5pm the zoo "comes alive, because the 4 o'clock hour is the hottest if the day and it begins to cool off enough for the animals to enjoy their exhibits.
If it's listed it should be 50% off. Indy's does no discount last I checked.
Wagon yes coolers nope ,but you can have a picnic table out side of zoo
It says it's open on Memorial Day, but it doesn't say what hours, I'd just call
April 27th
We do not have electric chairs, but we do have wheelchairs that are free to use
Giraffe exhibit by far! Or the rain forest.. maybe even sting ray bay. Hard to choose
They did just create a nice mother's alcove in the Africa Journey, it looks like specifically for breast feeding. It's on the right before the storks
Yes, you are allowed to bring food and drinks into the zoo; they have designated areas for you to eat!
I dont believe so, if you go to the website and click on the calendar it says no events scheduled that day.
Yes all attractions are available for paying patrons. If you live in Fort Wayne, might I suggest you get a membership. Once you do that, going to the zoo is like going to the park. Just walk in and enjoy.. Once you have gone several times you start saving money. My kiddos love the water dogs (sea lions).
$10 deposit, but you get it back once you return the wheel chair
9 am to 7 pm
October 31st
Yes they do, there not too expensive but im not sure how much
They have set times when there are different feedings that can be watched, as well as the stingray tank. The stingrays can be fed at i believe 11am and 2pm
I was there two weekends ago and wasn't able to feed the giraffes either as she was pretty far away i know the stingray feedings are at 11am 1 pm 3pm and 5 pm cups of food are five tokens and its while food supplies last.
I would definitely call just to verify they are such friendly people, but if not it is definitely not a waste of money to purchase tickets to the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo. Every time I have been there they find something new to impress me with!
Pet? I doubt it. Not sure about a sevice dog. Your best bet is to call them.
I am not sure you can cancel them you can however call and see if they will help you work out a different day
There set up just for the kids all kind of exciting things kids like .... Safe great learning tools about the animals teaches them a lot
Maybe you should write this in the review section. This is not a question.
Yes they are up and running not sure on the time but they will be up until Christmas
Not sure but there are new leopards coming in 2020.
No not currently but they do have a lot of great mammals and other animals. Look at https://kidszoo.org/our-animals/ For all the different animals they have! Still a great place to visit.
I agree with Nicole! The zoo is very popular, which means a lot of visitors. By excersizing caution, self social distancing can be achieved.
Yes
I would go with or without kids it's fun for all. My husband and I enjoy going even when we don't have the grandkids.
Website says you can for $10. Then when you return it money is refunded
Masks are not required, but they are highly recommended; all employees will be wearing masks.
While they don't provide electric wheelchairs themselves, you can call James Medical at least 48 hours ahead of time to rent an electric wheelchair.
Right now, zoo hours for non-members are 12-7 for the rest of July, unless anything changes with the governor's orders.
Is this still true seen they a saying you have to wear them in public
Don't know it
I know they do shadowing
No ..it's closed. Fantasy of lights stopped last night. There is a lot to do in Ft Wayne Tho.. Google or map it and go from there.. good luck
I believe October 27th is the last day and if I'm not mistaken all of the animals will be out. They will have a Halloween zoo thing going.
Oct 1
They have Senior discount, didn't see any Medicaid discounts...
They have manual wheel chairs
No they do not.
Its usually beginning of October.
Yes the entire Zoo is wheel chair accessible. It may be difficult in some of the areas however because of inclines and declines.
Yes they close not sure date Toledo zoo open later I believe
No water features except log boat in Australian outback. The
yes
For your family, $60 (breakdown below) It may be worthwhile to consider the family pass. If you go 3 times this season you're money ahead. We especially like the family pass because there's no pressure to see it all in any one visit. Some days we just need to get out of the house, or we may only have an hour, so we may just go to Africa, or just to Australia. Price breakdown for one visit for the scenario you've described: 2 adults: 2 x $15 = $30 3 children (1 and over): 3 x $10 = $30 Total: $60 Basic membership: $129 Prices per kidszoo.org
2 tokens each person
5 tokens and each token is one dollar! For face painting.
You get a 50% discount at other zoos with a FW Childrens zoo membership except at the Indianapolis Zoo.
Yes, 9AM to 5PM
I would say the bugs in the rainforest exhibit creep me out the most...yuck! The cutest is really tough! I love the river otters, lemurs, sea lions, monkeys, red panda...really I could go on...there are really a ton of special animals! Cute, ugly, scary...you name it.
It's 1 and under free. So as soon as they celebrate their 2nd birthday you pay for them
Check the zoos website or call them.
April 27 from 9 to 5.
Yes for a fee
Not sure. Might want to call in advance and ask.
I'm quite a bit late, but yes the zoo has two pavilions, located in the African Journey area. You would need a reservation to use them; as for contacting for a reservation, I'd suggest calling the main line and inquiring there!
It depends. But I'd say fort wayne is better for children under 10 and toledo is better for teens. That's what i always thpught anyways. I think it will ultimately be a personal choice. Let us know what you think.
I've never been to Toledo zoo, but we truly do like the Ft. Wayne children's zoo. A lot of animals to see, rides, great layout. Stingray''s to pet.
About 3-4 hrs with my 3yr old. Usually only doing 1 ride, and we get there within an hour of the zoo opening.
Yes, they have wagons with belts, but it is first come first serve. Probably better buying a cheap wagon at Wal-Mart and using over and over
If you have a zoo membership you get 20% discount
You can also buy a discount ride ticket for $20, it's 12 rides for the price of 10
I've never been told I couldn't. I bring drinks and food almost every time I go.
Unfortunately no, the zoo doesn't currently have the means to care for Polar Bears, or a good section to put them in.
I don't think they do. They do have regular wheel chairs that you put a deposit of $10 down and you get it back once you return the wheel chair.
No, however we do have a teen volunteer/leadership program starting at 13. I was part of it for 5 years and am now an intern. I would HIGHLY suggest getting into it if you even think you might be interested in a career around animals.
14 dollars for an adult.....you can always go to their website! It gives ticket prices!
They are AZA Certified and participate in the SSP Program
Grandparent: $119 One year of full membership benefits for one or two named adults living at the same address and their grandchildren age 18 and under.
There is not but the members pass is 90 dollars and you can get discounts for other zoos and science spots around the country
There is nothing special scheduled for that day.
No they do not. They do rent out wheelchairs.
You are plenty welcome to bring a personal stroller or wagon, there are specific places next to the rides that are designated for parking of strollers and wagons -- no lock necessary although you can bring one if you want to.
None for adults. For children, they have ponies that walk laps in a circle for around $5.
I just bought a family one, two adults in house and kids. Me, my daughter and her 3 kids. It cost 119 for family and you can do a add on guest for 50 so 119 + 50.
They do have family memberships that are good for 1 year. The passes for one year of full membership benefits for two named adults living at the same address and their children age 18 and under. We have four children and this is the most affordable option for us.
No
Yes!
You can order online or call. Also get them at the entrance. Look on their website. The cost varies according what level you buy for.
Maybe, doesn't hurt to find out. Call the office. Some pet stores may take them? Just a thought.
Yes they do. They have 2 zebra moray eels in the reef tank. Lazarus & Ursula.
If you are asking about the penguin vip experience, Ages 13 and above can go without adult supervision. Ages 12 and under must have an adult accompany them throughout the experience.
Park next door has pick Nick pavilion for families. I don't believe coolers are aloud past the entrance to the zoo! Might be exception for baby bottles that might spoil in heat!
Thank you i called and they do . There is a $10.00 deposit wich you get back when its returned ..
Their last day this season is October 8th but they have special events near Halloween.
