Lovely aquarium. $25 for ages 12+, $20 for ages 3-11.
Lots of parking in front lot, but there is a $5 fee (pay at muni-meter).
At this time, reservations are required. We were lucky enough to show up at around 12 pm on a Wednesday and get a 1 pm reservation…as we didn’t know and didn’t book in advance. Masks are NOT required throughout the aquarium.
The beginning portion of the aquarium did get very crowded as it is a narrow pathway through a few exhibits, including the glass aquarium tunnel…when you consider tons of kids and parents taking a gazillion photos, this stretch of the aquarium can get chaotic at times…even with the timed reservations.
After that area though…there is more than enough space to explore at your leisure. Lots of interesting and well-thought-out exhibits…be sure to look and read everything. There is so much to learn.
The entire aquarium is well-kept and maintained. All staff were very nice and helpful.
I highly recommend the aquarium to those of all ages.

Fun, easy to navigate around. However, all staff need to tell patrons coming in that tickets can be purchased inside rather than waiting outside and purchasing online. One staff wouldn’t even help us and was on his phone. Come to find out, we could have gone inside to get the tickets and paid cash for since we did t want to pay with a card. Some staff just don’t want to do their jobs these days. All the other staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful.

This place is great!! We always go to aquariums in as many states as possible and this is definitely in top 5. It is older so they are doing renovations but the exhibits are very good. They've worked hard at making it all encompassing. I wish I could buy the soundtrack!! It's so relaxing!! The gift shop has a large variety and is decently priced. Everyone is so friendly, insider tip....if you see someone with a messenger bag ask what's in it!! They're so knowledgeable and ready to share what they know!!

It was a good time. A lot of things are empty either due to covid or them getting ready to remodel. My husband and I took our son for his first visit and we all still enjoyed it. Wish the city would invest more money in the aquarium so they could expand and add more things.
They do military discounts, and police discounts I'm not sure if they do any other form of discounts in that manner. But I'm sure you can check out the website or call them.
Adult $24.95
Child $19.95
Senior $22.95
Infant $0.00
Military Adult (12+) $22.95
Military Child (3-11) $17.95
Military Senior (62+) $22.95
They also have member prices.
Maybe city busses. Maybe take lightrail to Newtown road and then bus from there. You want to look up Hampton roads transit. I'm not sure what busses are like and time going from Norfolk to Virginia Beach
You can spend a lot of time there, especially if you are interested in vintage military aircraft. The staff is knowledgeable. Kids may get a little restless. We were there several hours.
The prices per adult are 25 and children under 12 years 20 but only let in a certain group you have to buy them and there they will tell you the available times to enter
Does anyone know the aquariums number? I've called both listed numbers, the one on their website, and the one for Google and both times the nunber is out of service 🤷🏿 How is that and why?? Do they still exist?

It is still there, I just went this past Wednesday. Unsure of why the numbers don't work though
Not only do they have discounts, they also have events and ideas geared at scouts specifically.

Check this link. It's a great place!
Yes there is a pool with sting rays, but it was so crowded with people you can hardly squeeze in, and the people don't want to move so you don't know how long you're going to wait to try to fit in.
They have a sign that said no outside food or drink, but they also didn't check anything we brought with us. Several in our group had drinks and we could have easily gotten food in
It was the prices were not bad at all I think it was twenty bucks to get in then there's a senior discount and then children it was a piece of cake and it was pretty long hope you enjoy
Dogs 🐕 are awesome and should be allowed to go into an aquarium, what harm would it cause?

Some of the exhibits are low and open on top for children to see. In the event that a dog were around, there is a chance that the dog would mistake a fish or other sea creature for a chew toy, thus jumping in and threatening the cleanliness and safety of the water and fish.
We were there twice in July. No octopus sighting either time. Jellyfish galore, so maybe they will satisfy somewhat. Nothing takes the place of watching an octopus, but a fun comparison of visual similarities and differences. The jelly tanks are truly nice, with the ability to almost be one within the side of the tank
$29.95 for adults under 60, $27.95 for adults over 60 for entrance to Aquarium and 3D movie. Sorry, I didn't notice the cost for children. The website has all necessary info. Just search Virginia Aquarium.
When we went last Monday it was 25 for adults 30 with the movie. They were not offering movie that day and several exhibits were closed. We were somewhat disappointed considering the price. Our 3 yr old was 20 to get in.
Virginia Aquarium general single day admissions are $24.95 for adults, $19.95 for children, and $22.95 for seniors ages 62+. They offer discounts for military and veterans. Movies, boat trips, and behind the scenes events are available for additional cost.
The Aquarium has different levels for annual membership. Individual is $75, Family$150. Other membership packages are available.
Depends on group, do you have discounts, time and what you want to do at the aquariums. Figure approximately 30 bucks for two. Its was cery enjoyable and cant wait to visit again!
Is there a way to purchase merchandise online? Saw something I wanted the last time I was there but never got.

Unfortunately you cannot.
For the Hampton roads residents deal for October, do I have to bring a piece of mail or will my drivers license be enough?

Why we do not have handicap transportation, we do have manual wheelchairs available to borrow on a first-come first serve basis. Please stop in to the guest services office when you arrive to check one out.
In Sept, 2005, we went to VA Beach Marine Science Museum. An exhibit of birds/parakeets were flying freely around a large room area. They would land on your fingers or shoulders! Do you still have this exhibit at certain times during the year?

No. Our changing exhibits vary each year - often seasonally. Our next changing exhibit opens late September 2018 and features Curious George.

Hi, Mimi! The Virginia Aquarium has a giant screen, 3D theater, as one of our amenities. We show a few different movies each day, which change seasonally.
$30 for adults. $25 for kids under 12. That includes the movie. Otherwise it's $5 less for each ticket. There are various discounts as well. Seemed pricey, but this is a great aquarium.

Yes, we do offer wheel chairs on a first come, first served basis. You will just need to leave an ID with our Guest Services Office to use it on our campus.
Adult: $24.95
Childre: $19.95
Senior & Military: $22.95
Movie: $7.95
Dolphin Watch: $20.00
Everything is worth every penny and the Dolphin Watch is well worth it. The price for the Dolphin Watch is per adult and I am not sure of how much it is for children. We got the Combo pass and saved $4.00 pp.
The Virginia Aquarium is proud to honor our military with a special Military May discount! On Sundays and Mondays in May, anyone that shows a valid military ID will receive 50% off the purchase of an Aquarium admission. May not be combined wtih any other discount or offer. Tickets must be purchased in person.
Rain shouldnt be an issue unless you want to participate in the adventure park outside aloof the walking trail previously mentioned. They also do boat tours to see dolphins, but im not certain how rain effects those. Majority is inside when i was there 3 weeks ago the outside seal exhibit was being renovated so there was nothing too see then. Still had a blast and yes it rained, no we didn't get wet, if you have a chance to go yoy won't regret it rain or shine

The Virginia Aquarium does not have dolphins on exhibit, so there is no dolphin show. We do have dolphin watching boat trips from the spring through the fall.
I believe it was $24.99 for adults without any extra movies. But if you consult the website you can get the up to date daily rates. They also had a year round special when I was there. I do not remember the details.
Yes they take your picture as you enter aquarium after buying your ticket. You stand in front of a green screen before you leave you can get the picture with your choice of back ground
If you want just the aquarium $24.95 per adult. If you choose everything they have to offer it is around $100 per adult (dolphin boat tour, the climbing park, aquarium, and 3d theater)
