They need to have two camping areas: 1. it's current camping area which has electricity for people who want to party all night and stay up to 2:00 in the morning making noise 2. A new separate camping area for people like me who don't need electricity and want to go to sleep when it gets dark and don't want to be kept up till 2:00 in the morning. Yes,believe it or not there are some of us who actually go out into the middle of the woods to enjoy nature peace and quiet I know it's hard to believe, but Some people these days actually do want to sleep at night and enjoy listening to owls and crickets

Traveled here a few times and each experience has been different but amazing. The scenery and the wildlife have just left me in awe! Cant always promise you'll see things like the bison but you'll still have a special time no matter what. So many beautiful trails.

Gorgeous preserve, love seeing the wild horses and other wildlife. Have yet to see a bison but there's plenty of "evidence" on the Cone's Dike Trail. It can get quite hot so make sure to bring/drink plenty of water. Trails are pet friendly and fairly level. Update- The Chacala Trail is opened again after being closed for a while due to logging. A couple trees down on the trail which I let the rangers know about but be aware there's a lot of overgrowth (grasses and such) so check for ticks. My mom and I drenched ourselves in bug spray and still were covered in mosquito bites and had a few ticks crawling on our shoes and pants. If you're going with a dog or kids, stick to the more open wide trails (Lake Trail or Cone's Dike). I'll be sticking to the other trails so I avoid the bugs (the Chacala Trail seems especially buggy after all the rain and logging work done).

Quiet and clean place to camp.... check your GPS though, it tried to turn me off of I75 through the water.

The park website says that pets are allowed. However, I have seen signs that say pets are not allowed on certain trails. There are a lot of gators and snakes and no fences to keep them away from your dog.
Yes, the primary park roads are well paved and over 15 miles of trails are marked for bicycles. Additionally the 16 mile Gainesville-Hawthorne paved rail trail passes through the north part of the park.
Thank you ma'm, state does overseas the county policies and the current state may decide depending on how the property is owned by. The funeral home that also has cremation, in scattering ashes may have more information.
I see gators all the time . By the dock on the way to Gainesville .
Any of the pull offs along 441 though Paynes prairie would be your best bet but nothing is guaranteed
The tent only sites are within the main campground, just a short walk from the parking area. This way, amenities are close by, no hiking is required, and noise from the RVs is reduced (ac units can get pretty loud) The primitive sites are a ways out, a 1.85 mile (2 hour) hike along the Chacala Trail. You can get more info from their website too. Hope this all helped!
Yes
U can fish, but there is a parj down the road u can go get guide's n other info. That way u know the rule's for fishing n other questions u mat have. It is so very relaxing n beautiful !!
Sorry, good luck
Had good reception with both T-Mobile & AT&T
Yes there is at the main entrance to the park
Be prepared for bugs in September. It's hot and swampy.
We have seen two alligators in the main road about a hundred yards inside the main front gate we have seen a doe with four paws just passed Ranger Station about 200 yards no Fox
No rentals here.
I believe there is down in the picnicing area not the campground area
I just left the one in Georgia and it wasnt flooded at all. In fact rain was needed very bad bcuz it was so hot and dry.
I know where there's a Publix grocery store at Exit 399 going west I deliver right next to it all the time not sure where a Walmart might be
Yes, a small concrete boat ramp, big enough for a jonboat, jet ski, day sailer or something of similar size.
Campgrounds have clean restrooms and hot showers. As said elsewhere, it helps enormously if you are considerate of others and don't leave it messy.
Awe man I really don't know that , I didn't heard anybody seen any python in that park.they could help you on that question.
Lots at both entrances accommodate 20' RVs
I saw people fishing from the viewing pier by the pull out on 441 a few weeks ago
Yes, be sure to get a Florida fishing permit first.
This is a question that you need to ask the rangers, when the shutdown ends. Asking fellow Google uses is pointless.
By the pier
Yes
You can always go out on the boardwalk and enjoy the prairie at any time...even if the actual park is closed.
From the north there's a nice boardwalk over a marsh. Good birds.

Nope! It's bring your own horse unfortunately!
No, only tent and RV camping. Around Cross Creek, near the Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings State Park, there are private cabins at some fish camps and some motels in the area near Gainesville. Further away there are cabins at O'leno State Park and Gold Head Branch State Park
If you are asking trails, walking/joggibg and/or biking, you are good basically year round. There are a few spots between Hawthorne & CR 325, about 2 spots, rains accumulate Sumner time but otherwise, yeah, you are good.
This is just my opinion and I know that everyone has one but I would never take my dogs anywhere alligators are present. I would also not let my dogs swim in any of the springs or anywhere alligators are present. I love my dogs. I love wildlife. Sometimes the two do not go well together. Alligators and dogs no way.
Yes at the South end at Lake Wauberg. There are rules for boating certain times so it's best to go to their website and call or read the rules on boating jet skiing swimming etc...
Well behaved dogs are welcome at Paynes Prairie Preserve State Park. They must be kept on a hand held 6-foot leash at all times and cannot be left unattended for more than a half-hour. Pets are not permitted in playgrounds, bathing areas, or park buildings. Due to potential conflict with alligators, snakes and bison, pets are not allowed on the Bolen Bluff Trail, Cone's Dike Trail and La Chua Trail. This is straight from there website
The trail at the North entrance is open on the boardwalk section. We saw lots of birds and a few alligators
The trail you mostly spot them on is Cone's Dike Trail. It is hit or miss. Because of the flooding you can only make it out to about the 1.25 mile range of the total 4. I have seen them from a couple 100 yards in, up to about the 2.5 mile range. To get to the trail head, you park where the visitor center/observation tower is and then walk about 200 yds.
As of January 11 La Chua trail is flooded beyond the boardwalk, most of the trails at Bolens Bluff are dry except the observation deck on the prairie.
Yes. It's only a couple of dollars. The main park has a ranger station some of the other trails have an honor system
