Sticky tables, small and tasteless portions, and extra charges (including parking) made dining at the "Pump Station" a real surprise! When we first arrived at our booth, it was clear the table had not been wiped clean because the glass perspiration rings from the previous diners were still wet, and the table was sticky. I noticed the parking meter signs all about the outdoor parking and inquired. I was informed (after asking) that there was an Albany Municipal $7.34 parking fee for 5 hours. This charge applied 7 days a week and 24 hours a day. Clearly the Albany Parking enforcement ate here and was as unhappy as I was.... My order (taco salad) was mostly a bowl of lettuce with a few black beans sprinkled about and an inch thick topping of left-over "crumbled" taco chips. I guess hence the name "taco salad"! My companion had a "gobbler something" that was dropped on what seemed a hot dog bun and a very small portion of french fries. I tasted the gobbler and it was not pleasant. The final kicker was the unannounced "surcharge fee" of 3.5% for using a credit card! I did not see that on the menu or anyplace else. My advice is to eat elsewhere until the "Albany Pumpstation" sort out their problems. I know that I will.

Staff and atmosphere were great, however food was disappointing. We started with the wings and calamari..wings were great, however the calamari was clearly old; it was tough and without much flavor. For main course my significant other had the onion soup which was oversalted. I had the pastrami sandwich which was burnt, and although the meat was good wualityz the burnt bread ruined the dish. I hope this was just a one off, because I truly did like the ambience and the staff was very friendly. Maybe I'll visit again in the future.

We had a nice time eating dinner here while visiting the area. However, I've been here in the past over the years on several occasions and I miss the old menu. Additionally, I was disappointed (on principle) that my entree was served not as described. The seafood mac and cheese was described as "shrimp, scallops, and crab tossed in a lobster cheese sauce, topped with Old Bay seasoned bread crumbs." There was, however, zero crab in my dish. The scallops were excellent though and made up for the missing crab. It's even possible that the cook may have added extra scallops to make up for the complete lack of crab. But, what if crab was my favorite food and I was specifically looking forward to the crab? Would it have been fair to surprise me like that rather than to just be upfront about running out of crab and let me decide for myself? Regardless, the entree was delicious. Everyone else in our group seemed to enjoy their food as well. Except for the nachos. I'm not sure that anyone particularly cared for those. I abstained from dessert (they no longer serve bread pudding and I wasn't in the mood for the other offerings). As far as the service, it was great (very friendly and attentive). Thumbs up to the server and helper that waited on our table.

C.H. Evans is a Brewery and Restaurant. You can come in and take a tour if you like.
According to the website, the kitchen starts at noon.
We've only been on Saturday afternoon. So I don't know. But Saturday night in Albany is pretty busy. And there is the Roger Waters concert at the times union arena. Potentially 10,000 or so people.
