People in the front desk are not so welcoming and tone of the voice is rude..

Doctors are hit or miss have a good one now but the first one I saw was awful. The current annoyance is they outsourced the front desk so calling you get people that have no idea what you are talking about, hang up on you and don’t communicate to the practice. For even minor things if you need it done you have to go to the office and ask for it including making appointments in person.

I agree with avoiding french fries and potato chips but I’ve not personally counseled any of my patients to avoid potatoes as a whole. They contain fiber, protein, magnesium, potassium, iron, vitamin C, and vitamin B-6 with no/negligible fat, cholesterol or sodium. More of the problem with potatoes would be how you prepare them or what you eat them with (eg sour cream, bacon bits, butter, etc). Complex carbohydrates are generally found in plant products full of fiber. Beans, vegetables, brown breads, pastas, rices instead of the processed, white versions that have been stripped of the healthy fibers and contain more simple sugars. For carbohydrates, you want the products that say “whole” grain or “whole” wheat on the labels (you should also be able to pronounce all of the listed ingredients). I certainly agree that foods rich in complex carbohydrates are an excellent source of the vitamins and minerals that are essential for a healthy diet. --- Dr. Kevin Woods
