Great hike combo - good length, nice river walk, beautiful waterfall and great rhododendron tunnel.

Very pretty waterfall. We hiked past the waterfall for a while but there was no view or waterfall after the 1st one.

An easy hike to a beautiful waterfall. You can get close enough to feel the water spray. There is limited parking and have to drive on a narrow gravel road. Not crowded when we went.

This waterfall experience was one of the best I've ever had. The walk was lovely. The trail was mostly flat and wide, well-maintained, and had very few sharp rises in elevation. The trail was marked with red blazes starting in the parking lot and the fork to the falls was marked with a sign. Stop and dip your feet in the river off to the right just before the bridge before continuing on the path. The waterfall was around half a mile from the parking lot and it was very secluded. We only saw a couple people the whole time we were there and had the waterfall and walking trails completely to ourselves for over an hour. There are lots of secluded camping sites dotted throughout the woods, so don't be surprised if you hear people in the distance or if you smell a campfire. There are many wildflowers along the way. The waterfall is impressive! The path leads you right to the bottom. A few feet to the left before you reach the bottom of the falls, there are two small paths that climb sharply upward to the lower third of the falls. Take a look at the bottom of the falls and then climb up to the side. If you are adventurous and careful, you can easily get right into the spray. There are large flat rocks for sitting and there are large rocks blocking your way from falling down the waterfall. There had been a lot of rain before we visited the falls and the flow was astonishing. The water is really cold, but delightful. The gravel road leading up to the parking lot is very narrow and difficult for two cars to pass each other. When you leave the parking lot, I recommend taking the right turn if you have about 30 minutes. The drive is beautiful, albeit on gravel with a few pot holes in places (I was driving a 4 door sedan and had no issues,) and very secluded. We didn't see another car the whole time. The drive takes you to 215 near Balsam Grove. Highly recommended!

If only going the falls, it's 15 minutes each way. If doing the Daniel Ridge loop, it is 5.1 miles and takes 2 1/2 to 3 hours, depending on your pace. The falls are at the beginning or end, depending on which way you go.
