Don’t know what I got myself into. Wouldn’t recommend North Carolina DMV’s really need some upgrades and new staff! And idk if this is mold or what?

Fast, polite, efficient, helpful and friendly from start to finish. This Gillespie DMV is a million times ahead of the Raeford DMV! The service here was the complete opposite in every way to the Raeford DMV.

It doesn't matter if you have an appointment or not, you'll wait just as long as those without one. I got there at 9:15 for a 9:30 appointment (as instructed) and didn't get called back until 11:40. Be prepared to take the day off from work/school because appointment times are imaginary and your time doesn't matter. No wifi to pass the time.

I had an appointment for 8:45, I checked in and they told me to wait outside. While I was outside, my number was called and I had not heard it since I was outside. Nobody told me to come inside or that my number was called.
I went up to the desk and the woman said she’d put my back in the queue with my original number and I waited another hour- still nothing.
I went back to the desk a third time and she gave me an entirely new number that I am still waiting to be called.

Depends on what type of ID you need. I would say $13 to $40 dollars for a standard ID depending on your situation. It will cost more if you need additional classification on the license like cdls and etc.

You dont, but I highly suggest it. Go to the dmv website and you can set it up online. After you make your appointment keep checking the site to see if any appointments opened up if your appointment is too far away.
What can a teenager use for identification in order to get their permit if they don't have their social security card?
It's best to try and have an appointment because lately everyone has been showing up for their appointments so that way you don't waste your time going there!

You need an appt at the dmv on Gillespie St. Im not sure about the other location. Bring valid ID, proof of residence, fees. You will have to take the written portion of the test at that location. They will call you for an appt to take the driving portion of the test if needed at another location due to Covid. Hope this helps and good luck!

Felicia Yates DMV.gov set you an appointment with the DMV online 1 mailed letter from light bill company and 1 cellphone bill company showing proof of your address. birth certificate go the same place you got your very 1st ID from the first time it's faster and easy.
Only by appointments, but they are very fast in getting you in and out. Make sure to walk with all ID and documents with address. Utility bill,bank statement....
2 forms of photo ID, Social Security card, birth certificate, proof of residency (mail, in ur name, to an NC address), passport. All these items are acceptable. Bring all that u can so there are no hiccups!!! But this location is super friendly and very kind. They are helpful and do what they can to make it a smooth process. This kind of office is rare!!! 100% super nice and user friendly!
Why the phone line is always busy around the same time 1630 and at soon 1659 hits the phone rings like crazy and no one answers the phone. A whole week WHY???

I'm sure you can. Just bring that, your ss card, proof of insurance, proof of address along with a passport or birth certificate for the real ID, which is good for federal identification and try to see Pope, he's a larger guy. He's nice and fast. Good luck. 🏁
