When going through Pearson to get your license processed, send emails instead of calling, it’s much faster.

Given incorrect information on initial contact. Was told that a form was being emailed to me. I didn’t receive the form so contacted the office ( my third call) a week later and a form was sent. At that time I asked the person answering the form if I could relay my circumstances to her since initial analyst had given me incorrect information. That person indicated that all she could do was send me the form. My overall impression is that the office is not customer friendly. As a former government employee I was disappointed with the quality of help I was given. I hope that the Commissioner stresses to his employees the need to give accurate information or refer the caller to a source where he/ she can get that information and be receptive to consumer issues. At no time was I belligerent or hostile. As I said to the last analyst I talked with it is understandable why the Office’s reviews are below average. I am not sure if the treatment received is reflective of a staffing shortage or budgetary constraints but must say in contrast, when I contacted the Department of Insurance in Kentucky, I was treated in a professional and solicitous manner .

Don't try to get hired here. I drove across the state to interview and I could tell I was only interviewing to fill their quota (i.e. due diligence). It was a total waste of my time and will never try to get hired here again, ever. And to make it worse, they had canned questions that were weak and superficial and the ones interviewing me were completely clueless and incompetent. They couldn't wait to get over with me, it was rushed and awkward. NEVER AGAIN!

Please contact the NC.Department of Insurance
Go online to the Dept of Insurance and fill out a lost life policy locator form. Recommend doing the online option as it is processed quicker and the form has to be entirely completed in order to find a policy if it is out there.
