EHV means nothing. I've been told date after date and it changes every time. I keep completing paperwork just to find out there more weeks later. I started this 14 weeks in the homeless shelter now I'm almost due and I'm still filling out paper work. Getting told I'd get my voucher month ago. Then dinner. Then today. And all I get is I don't know we'll have to wait. With no number to call no one to contact.

I have been on the waitlist since January 5, 2016 and I have not heard anything. There have been rumors about the list opening up and when I try to reach out one of two things happen, I cannot get in contact with anyone or I am told wait until someone contacts me. I am still waiting, I would like an answer an update or something as things with my current living situation have become hazardous to the health and safety of my children.

I've been dealing with CHMA for a while this is my second voucher through them. These people have not helped me at all. They get paid go money not to do their job. CGI ain't no better they are just holding my paper for no reason. My apartment has been waiting on me for a two months now. They won't approve my paperwork even tho I got a signature from CGI because they don't have a approval letter to give. At this point I'm ready to get lawyers involved these people have not helped me at all and I'm sick of it. If you call on the phone you gotta deal with people being nasty and you could just be asking a question. I really don't want to give the no rating

I have been working with CMHA for 7 years now and I cannot believe how bad this transition has been. I have one tenant that I subitted his voucher June 3, 2022. They came out for intial inspection and did not notify me via email or mail and no 30 min call ahead like they are supposed to do. They put a tag on the door. We have been trying to 3 months to get back on the schedule. This guy comes by my office 3 times a week and begs me to do something as he is staying in a shelter. So sad. I have called and emailed and stopped in and they just tell me to email. The emails go nowhere. I have ones from May that say the next available agent will get back to me. I also have a lady that moved in in May and I still have not received the funding contract. How are landlords supposed to keep up with the mortgage/taxes/insurance and water bills? All the great folks I worked with over the years no longer have working emails or phone numbers. Where did they all go?

Right I’m trying to move to g Columbus and I called early part of this year and still no response
You can apply without an income and get an allowance for your utilities and since you have no income you can pay as little as 20 bucks or even nothing for rent it just depends on your personal situation. I know because a lot of people I know have been through it. Don't trust all the public reviews and answers you see online
Go to the shelter and they will sign you up. You may stay at the shelter even if you have kids.
You can live in Delaware, Franklin, Fairfield, Licking, Morrow and Pickaway county to apply so it only makes sense if you can use the voucher in any of those counties
Yes
To apply visit cmhanet.com and click on the “Apply Now” button on the home page. Once clicked it will take you into a portal where you can enter your personal information and you will be added to our waitlist.
Same Question
Go to craigslist housing rentals and type section 8 or voucher in the search box
Yes they can ask for it. Due to the negative stigma on "section 8" renters tearing up their property.
Just go in to the office to update any information.
No. You'll have to let. Section 8. Know. So they can help with the rent
Yes I believe multiple places...
Our offices are located at 880 E. 11th Avenue and 1407 Cleveland Avenue. We ask that you set up an appointment with your advisor first.
Thanks. I'll look into it.
Go to cmhanet.com and click on the apply now button. Our waitlist is always open and we continuously pull from that waitlist. Thanks!
Not providing updated information or it not being calculated correctly. File an appeal immediately or ask for supervisors whom generally will correct mistakes assist caseworkers on these rare occasions..
Yes, as long as your voucher amount cover it. I got a three bedroom with a 2 bedroom voucher
I dont really now. I just now you get on line and put your info. In. And the man at.section 8 said they randomly call folks on there. They dont go in order. So they can call u anytime.
NO! You never move in without it passing inspection FIRST!! Or you will be responsible for full rent and will void ypur sectio 8 voucher.
This series of questions are a waste of my time an d yours

Sorry about that, I walked into the office on Cleveland Ave, got help after being in the office for a short time. I didn't use phone, because it does take long, but if you're impatient, then call earlier or near the end of the week maybe not a long hold time on the phone.& You know they short staffed 🧐
You would have to go under the website and email someone or call someone
Yes, Whitehall is located in Franklin County.
it would be best if you went into the office,
Lowering the Metro?????
CMHA's waitlist is always open to apply. If you go to cmhanet.com and click on the "Apply Now" tab you will be added to our waitlist. Thanks!
I haven't had that problem yet ! I guess you go on line and ask them how you can get it either way you're going have too go on line to open account with them and then fill out your application to be put on the list before you move ! I hope this was helpful .
Call them and make sure your address is correct with them and postal service. I dont think there is,but you have to have set up an account online in order to see where you are in line for placement if it can be done that is where to start. I was just told yes.
Hi Nikki, I'm sorry you have not received a voucher. We have a waitlist with several thousand people in need of housing as well. As long as you have had your application updated within the last two years, there is nothing else that needs done. When we have available vouchers, we pull from the waitlist. It selects people at random, like a lottery. So, as people leave the voucher system and a voucher opens up we are able to pull new people from the list. Let us know if you have any more questions regarding the waitlist? Thanks!
Do you have a voucher through the Columbus Metropolitan Housing Authority? If so, please contact your housing advisor and let them know what is going on first and we will try to resolve the issue. Thank you!
Hi Lakeisha, contact your Housing Advisor for this information. Thank you!
Hi Tanya, go to our website at cmhanet.com and click on the "APPLY NOW" tab. Once you set up an account and make a profile you will be added to our waitlist. Let me know if you have any other questions. Thank you and have a great day.
Hi Doris, go to hud.gov for rules and regulations. Thanks, CMHA
Good morning, this is taken straight from our Admin Plan, see below for details. 1. Initial/Move-in Inspections CMHA will schedule the initial inspection of the unit as soon as possible (but no later than ten calendar days) after receipt of a Request for Tenancy Approval Form and Lease. The unit must be ready for inspection at the time RTA is received by CMHA. The owner will be notified of the inspection results and given a deadline to correct the items noted as “Fail.”
Do you have a case manager or Home Health Aide Usually your case managers job is to provide You with Your Dire needs Housing food bills ect. Do you have a case plan
Every room in the house if it's any low income based program Im not sure about others they have different contracts / owner some are just apartments that don't care
You would only have to pay for a screen door if you damaged it not just to have one. There is a grievance policy that you can have an informal hearing
I've tried technical support and everything i could devote time too with No luck
Yes and it depends on where you move to due to most places that doesn't except dogs or cats. Check first before you accept a place you stay. Check with the owner of the home and you also will have to pay a fee for your dogs.
The lottery for vouchers is always open. Visit CMHAs website (www.cmhanet.com) to apply. Each housing community operates from it's own waitlist. Visit http://cmhanet.com/OtherHousing/Communities for a list of communities. For subsidized housing, contact the affordable housing communities and ask if their waitlist is open and instructions on how to apply.
I was on the list I think it took me like 3 years you should always check what number your at so you don't get passed they will right you when number gets down to about 50
Only thing to do is make sure the shelter report that your in that particular shelter, if you have a job they move you into housing quicker than the ones just waiting on housing...that's a word of mouth not sure if it's true or not...but you can always check into it...God be with you during your struggle to find housing for your family...🙏🙏🙏
Sorry don't kn3
The 400 in medical is an automatic deduction that figures to 10 a month off your rent. Its built in. It's just 10 dollars less a month than an able bodied person basically. If you report greater than 3% of your income in medical that can also be deducted such as medical premiums etc. But if you stop paying those that extra deduction goes away as there is more money is your pocket. Your rent goes up with your social security cost of living increase every year as you pay 30% of income after deductions in rent.
It all depends upon your voucher amount, for the details you must pay a visit to CMHA Columbus on Cleveland and 11th st.
You'd have to port your voucher. As long as you've lived there a yr or more you can move anywhere
Yea, but you would have to let CMHA know about your business.
You can go in person if about a landlord or person
Go in and inquire to see if you are.
I ported my voucher from another County if that's what you were asking. Yes
Rhoda are you a private landlord ifso can I get ur contact info
Have you had a house already you have 90 days still it expires but you need to see if they would you find a place or extent timetell them circumstances of your problems
You have to apply for section 8 , at 880 east 11th st. Columbus OH. But call them first to see when they are accepting apps.
It depends. Because I'm a single parent w one kid it took a yr and a half.
On line! Heck of a wait
8 or 6
If she has a section 8 voucher than she can go anywhere in the US that accepts section 8!
They do. The frequency may have changed but they are still done.
Please visit www.cmhanet.com and apply for a voucher online. You can also look at the property list and contact the sites that you are interested in and ask if they are accepting applications. They will likely have a waitlist but I suggest still applying.
You can go to their website & sign up. Although there is a large waiting list
It is case by case. It took me 11 years. There was a time you were able to call and check your status. Also to ask questions.
Yes if it hasn't expired. If its close then go to section 8 they will give you another one
No
There should be a way to do that but you have to do it from a desktop I believe
contact metropolitan housing in your area and they will start the process
Depends on what forms
Yes you can go to your social worker and tell where you want to move.
I have the same exact question ive been on the list since 2016 also
Yes
How much is a. 2bd voucher for
One only and you have to have extreme circumstances for them to give you an extension.
They don't mind changes within thirty days. Over 30 days, it might matter.
