Beautiful beach and not too packed!

Ona is the best beach on the Oregon coast because it has long stretches to walk with, or without, dogs and low tide turns up amazing shells. There are plenty of tables at the parking lot to dine on with a large, clean bathroom.

Lots and lots of picnic tables in a wide open field between the river and the beach. Many of the tables were in bad shape. The toilets were well kept and bright. It was a 5 minute walk or so from parking to the beach. There was a charming bridge to the other side of the river. There was some good bird-spotting! The beach is wide and vast, with the river bisecting it as it runs to the ocean. Maybe an agate hunting area? We didn't have any luck.

About 10 min south of South Beach State Park. Large parking area with restrooms and ample picnic tables all about the park. The beach is a leisurely 5 min walk via a paved path. Beach is like any other OR one but you will be mostly isolated from others on weekdays. Pleasant hike up and down the beach with houses on top of the embarkment.
