first visit to Boreal and already wanting to come back! The staff at Boreal are genuinely so caring and helpful. 5-star just for service alone!!! All of the staff I encountered here were just kind hearted and made me feel very welcome. Food & Beverage (counter) pick-up manager (I wish I had asked his name) ; a very kind , young gentleman helped me with some rice 😅 cause my phone got wet. He made sure all dining patrons were taken care of. Snowboard Rental equipment manager (Brandon); helped to adjust my bindings and even went out of his way to help teach me how to do it myself. Thank you Brandon!🙏🌊☀️ Bartender; very kindly offered to take a photo of my friend and I as we attempted selfies outside his bar. This resort just felt very warm , welcoming and I would gladly come back to visit in a heartbeat. Would definitely recommend to others looking for a good time on the mountain!❄️🏔️ P.s. it's so worth it to go early, get the early lift tickets!

Very nice mountain. This was my first time night-skiing, and here at Boreal it was a great and fun experience for my friends and I. The snow was different than some other mountains but that is because of this winter season. The parks here in the dark are very fun and enjoyable, and there are runs that are for beginners as well that are fun too. The parts of this mountain open in the daytime or very fun and have various terrain.

First time to ski here and as a beginner it was perfect for me. Nice easy runs, not so steep that I panic. Also I find that the park guests were very forgiving of my lack of ability. I enjoyed it very much.

Super convenient to get to, not at all overcrowded, runs are shorter than some of the big Tahoe resorts, but the lift lines were nonexistent except on the very front of the mountain. With the time staggering on the passes and corresponding rates, this is definitely a great value and we had a fantastic experience.

Yes, one Friday a month
When can I buy my 2019 pass? When is Boreals last open day ?
Hello Maria!! You can go online to California snow parks to purchase you're pass. It's 5.00 a day or you can buy for the season!! Make sure you get that pass because C.H.P will ticket you're car and its 92.00!!😳 stop by the local stores and support the area!!! Stay safe!!
https://www.onthesnow.com/california/boreal/lodging.html
They are not selling tickets beyond Apr 21 online.
I heard if your 75 years old and can still ski it's free. I think that's true at other resorts.
Yes.
Parking free this season..
Open to the public but have to make a reservation online. They're doing separate time slots and packages
Should be open.
Mostly it'll last till may and into June.
Go to. Boreal.com if they dont have it posted there. Call their toll free number
You cant go sledding. Only ski or snowboard
I got there at 9a.m.but My friend paid for the ticket
Too much now.
Yes with the new RFID system they take a picture of the pass holder. So you can buy a pass for a friend but at some point your friend will have to go to the ticket desk to get their pass
No, they do not check age. They do check to see that you have a college ID.
Great, thanks!
Slight discount after 3pm, full price until then.
Tomorrow should be fine just keep an eye on the weather and the Caltrans website
Just to play in the snow it might be 10-20$ for parking
Yes! See you March 9th! Make sure you pre-register here: https://borealbankedslalom2019.eventbrite.com/
9am
We bought to the full day class and lift tickets included in the price
Yes
No, they don't have it
If it's same as Snow boarding then yes
Yes you can buy a single night pass or single full day pass that includes the evening session
Unfortunately, there no snow now((
It depends on the weather, cold, snow, etc.. But usually in November at least by Thanksgiving.
We took our pups to the snow park. Dogs are welcome at Boreal, on leash, just not inside. But you can have them with you on the patio.
Night skiing is open till 9pm
Night skiing has always been popular when conditions allow it. For the most part they want to open up the slopes.
Age 3 for private lessons. Not sure if they take them that young for group lessons. I want to say for a regular group lesson the age is 6. Prices vary depending on a lot of factors, half day, full day, whether you have your own equipment including helmet, day or even time of day and whether you already have a lift ticket or not.
Truckee to Boreal is 5 miles away, and ascends about 3000 feet. You cannot walk to the resort.
Just in the parking lot and maybe around outside by the lodge but not in the sking area
No ticket required for watching kids at the tubing. Do not forget there is a $10 parking fee per car.
Tubbing price is about $35 for 90 minutes
Kids lessons all included package was 114 dollars which include 2 hours lesson and rentals and lift, after lesson they still can keep playing the rest the day which I found it best deal in around the area. Lift pass only will cost you about 40 all day not like heavenly resort cost 200. Go to their web sites check out other price, I think was best deal.
Ski Lessons start at 10:00 and be here by 8:30 to give enough time for the paperwork + rental .. take a look at 123-Free option for ski lessons ..worth it !
There is an official SnoPark area where you can do sledding which is next to Boreal. The SnoPark is at the same exit but to the east of Boreal. The SnoPark requires a permit but i have been told you can purchase the permit at Boreal. However, due to lack of snow, there may not be emough snow for sledding.
3:30pm
If you have been there before and still have the onepass, reloading it saves you 10$ i believe. Otherwise check liftopia for deals
There is cross country skiing areas nearby around Castle Peak and the SnoPark area. However, as of this date, 12/26/17, the snow is thin. Hopefully more snow will come soon.
I agree but Soda Springs is still closed for lack of snow.
Not sure, but I've heard of a take three lessons and you get a season's pass of some sort you may want to look into that
November 8th is opening day! Open 7 days a week from 10-6 three front lifts are open. Get on down there!!
Wednesdays the magic day - November 8th
They are open. I'm not sure about day passes but you can get a 3-pack: https://book.rideboreal.com/s/season-pass/3-pack/p/the-3-pack
