There are charcoal grills in addition to the fire pits. Bring your own charcoal, lighter fluid, and I would have foil handy.
Yes you can
I get an app on my phone that redials the number for me in the cases when the phone is busy. Which usually happens during the busy summer months. On the days when I'm on hold... well I just have to wait.
You have to book them 12 weeks in advance. Military that lives on base gets to do this. All other other military can book 8 weeks out. The villas are very popular and hard to reserve.
I would call and verify, I have seen dogs on the beach, but I bet they were service dogs.
It's the Pacific which is much calmer but there are parts that will have some smaller waves.
Cottages have their own bathroom on the beach area there are bathrooms with showers and changing rooms.
The majority of the time I get right through ... But during holidays it can be a nightmare. The first week of May is opening for reservations during 4th of July which is there busiest time. I would expect very long wait times this week.
No, if you have a site without one, you can't have a fire
No dogs allowed on the beach. If you have a cottage you can have the dog there. The only dogs allowed on beach are service dogs with handler.
Del Mar Beach is not a public beach. Civilians may visit beach if they are accompanied by someone that has an Active/Retired Military ID or an ID from Department of Defense.
The rates vary summer and winter. Front row in summer is about $50.00 a night and all other cites are $40.00. In the winter it's $10.00 less. It's full hook-up and you'd have to confirm with office for length of stay. I think two weeks at most, and if you can stay long, you may end up in forth row. Summer fills quickly and active duty can reserve a spot 12 weeks and retired 10 weeks before check-in.
Most RVs should be able to handle far more pressure than you'll ever see. We had no issues at all.
At least 30 days ... they are generally booked... you can sometimes get lucky calling In... but for a solid set of dates at least 30 days prior
They keep changing the rules constantly on reservations. Just call and ask.
Yes, but you will have to change spots after a certain amount or of days. Every 14 days, but I would call to check the amount of days. Additionally there are time periods that have been booked in advance a may cause you to have to leave temporarily.
Yes.
Reservations have recently changed to a central system. Now you can only call M-F 9-5.
Likely have low manning during that time it is a government facility. I called a month ago around afternoon west coast time got on right away had plenty of rooms.
As of 1/2020, if you are a service-connected disabled veteran with a VA identification, you can use this facility. You will need to get driving/access privileges from the Camp Pendleton visitors center at the main gate (requires filling out a form, fingerprint, and pictures).
It's a drip type coffee maker, so bring grounds. They usually provide a few paper filters.
The main issue with four adults is that the villas have only one bed and one non - foldout couch. So you'll need to bring an air mattress or request a rollaway bed (I believe for a small extra fee). But we have slept as many as five in one villa without an issue.
They man the office desk 24-7. I call at midnight when I want to make reservations.
Del Mar has a play area and jungle gym next to the main lifeguard building. Y
Due to nearby bird nesting and Environment concerns no dogs are allowed on the beach. If lodging in the campgrounds dogs must be on a leash at all times.
You will have to go into Oceanside. The ups store on base charge 25.00 to have a package deceived if you don't a post box there.
