Yes you can. They have very reasonably priced guided van tours that take you to all the tracks at Charlotte. You even get to do a few laps on Charlotte Motor Speedway in the van!

Absolutely. We brought some out of town gifts with us a couple of weeks ago and had an amazing tour for only $30 a car. You actually drive your car on the track a full lap. Another time you stop and climb up a corner wall to see how steep and how highly angled it is. Not for the faint of heart. Plus, you get to be driven in your own car following in a caravan to see all of the other tracks that are there at the Charlotte motor speedway. I had no idea there was anything more than the main track. We tuned our cars to a specific FM station and our tour guide lettuce and spoke to us the whole time about every detail. I am not a race fan but I would recommend this to anyone who would like to see something that so few people see or get to do.

Go straight to the food trucks..there was something for everyone. Stay away from the tent by the back straightaway..the food "filled a hole" barely, burgers and fries all else was sold out. Oh, and the ketchup and bbq was labeled, people were throwing away fries that they mistakenly put bbq sauce on...oops

Find the entrance to the Nascar speedway (after you get off I-85 turn away from Concord Mills mall). Follow that road until it dead-ends into the speedway. Thats where you enter. After that, enjoy the lights on your way to Christmas Village!

We got our ticket on line. The online ticket didn't give us the option for the express or fast pass ticket. The fast pass allow you to get in quicker that other cars. It cost more.

I like turn 4 terrace. Can see down pit road and you can see them fighting for the lead on the last lap and the last turn before 4 to the finish line. Basically right were the beginning of pit road is.

You will need to drive inside gate 8 and turn left. Drive around to the backstretch and on your right you will see a guard shack and a tunnel. After checking in with the guard you will drive through the tunnel and park. Then just follow everyone else.

As part of the "Over the Wall" tour at Charlotte the guide loads everyone into a passenger van and speeds around the track at 80-90 miles an hour. Also drives the track with extreme curves fast! Don't eat before doing this. Kinda like a roller coaster ride. Great experience.

The pay scale is different for each team. The pit crew is very well paid, but the members of the crew are usually former pro and college atheletes. They train very extensively and travel 36 weekends out the year. It is a young man's game. One of my best friends is a gasman on one of the major teams.
