Because they can't force religious beliefs on to people, and there is no rule in the rulebook that states a driver has to do anything during the national anthem.

BC why does anyone get to tell anyone what to do with their life? If people would worry about their own business and let others do the same , we wouldn't have the problems and issues we have today.... minding you're own business should be the business we all pay attention to

NASCAR talks a good talk but only enforses there opinion on the citizens that made NASCAR what it is. Rather than tell certain drivers or teams what is protocol and respectful they will just tell the camera crews to not film them.
