I like to examine grave stones carved before 1800 and the Pitsfield Cemetery has a section of old stones that were removed from the Old Burial Ground in downtown Pittsfield and placed close together in the north west section of the cemetery. There are many interestingly carved stones, but unfortunately many of them are hard to read due to lichen. The cemetery is a beautiful rural cemetery and well worth the time to drive through.

They were very helpful when I was trying to locate some ancestors here. It was a great visit in the pouring rain ☔ to a beautiful, well maintained cemetery. They provided a map to easily locate sections and plots. I hope the maps I've posted will help others.

Do a Google search and find the information at the website . There is an office to find your plots.

Is the cemetery open today?
