Yes, they have to be on a leash & they even have doggie poop bags. Some do let their dogs off leash which are normally well trained dogs. It's wonderful to see them splash in the water.

I stayed at the Super 8 motel a few weeks ago. Very reasonable and clean. About 7 minutes away from Del Monte Beach on Fremont street.

Last time I was there on memorial day weekend lots of people were sitting on the beach with their stuff and food but be prepared to get constant visits from the life guards who will tell you that you need to be active and mobile rather than sitting around.

Yeah its open, you just need to find somewhere to park cause the usual parking on the curb right next to the beach is still closed

The streets are pretty narrow, so you'd have a rough time of it, but I've seen several school buses there so you should b fine

Fishermans wharf and downtown are very close with tons of restaurants and shopping
