Best place to find a rescue pup. They do amazing work.

Wonderful rescue organization that also has a veterinarian clinic to help our furry friends. Please adopt your new best friend
Speak on It, Zee!!!
Great Experience!!! All staff was helpful and patient; very informative…. I became a 1st time Puppy Momma today. It was perfect timing as adoption was 50% off this weekend. Can’t wait to get to know our new pup… we got him a leash, collar, tag, and big bag of food from the shelter as well. He came with his medical history/ shot record. Excited to see how he adjust to his new loving family 😘😘😘

We love this rescue! Our most recent adoption is from here and has been a great addition to our family. They're also super involved in the communities around them! Check them out!!
Thanks! Your review is awaiting moderation.
It took me a few weeks to get a positive responce. Stay paitent
I am not sure, but you’re supposed to schedule with them when you go to adopt the dog, so I don’t know.
Check the website.
Call and ask for Chris to make arrangements.
Just cats and dogs at this location. You might be better off looking for a specific hamster rescue
Yes! Make a $500 donation to Wright Way and wait for your Panda. Allow time for shipping.
Yes the wright- way staff will help with them making acquaintance.
They gave me generic answers to emails, never answered their phones, and never gave me an update on any of the dogs that I requested even tho it states they'll give you an update. When I inquired (different times on different pups) they gave me the same email each time with zero follow up.
What we did was look on the website EVERYDAY. As soon as they posted a new pup that caught our eye, we reserved it. I think that's your best bet.
Also check out their onsite work hours. Ask for an escorted tour and one on one /greet & meet session with ypur prospective pets. They'll probably arrange a time slotted session and walk you through the pet updates, medical info, special needs etc...
$445 for puppies $345 for adults $165 kittens $125 adult cats These adoption prices include: age appropriate vaccines, microchip, deworming, heartworm/flea/tick prevention, FIV/FELV test (cats only), HW test (adults only) & spay/neuter
Yes, and if you decide to adopt, they have a pc there so you can apply. Just be forewarned, it's puppy heaven in there and you may just walk out with a puppy :)
It may take just a bit longer due to the volume of people adopting their own dogs. Give yourself plenty of time.
I have worked with them several times and it is very easy and they are responsive. Not sure why you are having issues, but going in person will help.
You're probably better off just going in person
Because this is a shelter, if the acl tear happened pre-adoption they would tend to the injury...unsure if it would be surgery though (unless it was severe and the animal was in excruciating pain and couldn't walk). If injury happened post adoption, it would be your responsibility to bring your pet to your vet or a specialist for further care.
Please be patient with the employees & volunteers at WWR. There has been such a demand for dogs and puppies since Covid. Remember this is a non-profit and many people are on a volunteer basis. My suggestion: sign up to be a foster parent. Best of both worlds...you get first hand info on new dogs entering the facility and you can (for lack of better terms) "try before you buy". Please consider donating to this cause to increase the ability to save more dogs/cats and have more people on their payroll :)
Renee is right this place also approved my app very quickly maybe your email got lost ? Hope you get a. puppy from any shelter that's all that matters
The best way to get a response , is to email them .
What questions do you have? The shelter receives hundreds upon hundreds of emails a day and could not possibly answer ever single person with a question. There is a lot of information on the website itself. As someone mentioned you can try to email them but just know that does not guarantee a response. When I first started looking I didnt understand the whole reservation process but low and behold they provided the information I needed I just had to look in the right places
Around $450
Best to utilize their website, but check the "availability" of the animal you're looking to adopt. The one you're interested in may already be "reserved" for someone else.
It took us about 3 hours each time to hear back about a reserved pet request. It took us 4 times to get a pet that was not already reserved.
If you have filled out an application to adopt they will send you a link to actually apply to adopt a dog if you are accepted. There email isn't being replied to by people usually. So if you get accepted the link is in that acceptance email and it is fairly straightforward to try to adopt a dog.
You can send them an email expressing your interest in fostering. Since COVID, there's no way to reach anyone by the phone.
Yes roughly $450 for dogs. I am unsure about cats but I assume a couple hundred.
Now call them see if your approved and if so what puppie you would like to reserve
I don't understand your question?
Yes
If your have been approved for said animal then it shouldn't be much longer. They will contact you for an appointment.
300 and up
We 'reserved a dog online then setup an time to go meet him. They brought him outside but they were very patient with us and very accommodating.
I did an application almost 2 weeks ago. And no reply yet. They did send me an email saying they are extremely busy and might take up to 2 weeks for a reply.
According to WWR, you'll need to apply first, get your application approved and then set up appointment.
I think they need you to do the application first. So they know they are going to a good home. I applied a couple months ago but realized we weren't really ready. So when my wife saw a kitten, I was able to bring him home the same day. And after that, his brother a few days later! So best to get the application out of the way.
They are only taking appointments. You must have an application approved girst and then they will send you details. Give them 2 weeks to respond.
You have to email only. They are not taking calls.
$445 ($345 for adult over 9months)
Yes. Need to go online for now.
It's hard to get them on the phone. Believe me I tried several times a day during their operating days. However I was told you only need to put in an adoption reservation for an animal that isn't at the shelter. Like if they are coming from a foster or another location. But they are always closed on Mondays. They don't open back up until Thursday
Call the shelter when they open. Nebula may be in the adoption process
Yes,PLEASE,CALL First, and give them a heads up about Yr.situation, and Yr.Desire to surrender him.
Sorry, I haven't got a clue.
?? Just left, can't answer. CAll....
The Clinic isn't currently open to the public right now, only dogs that are in the Wright Way adoption program. They don't have enough staff but hopefully will be able to offer vaccines on the weekends again soon
Yes as long as you fill out an adoption application and get approved at the desk first
West suburban shelter
Yes that's how I got mine
They do, there's a clinic next door
See previous answer or best to give them a call or visit for specifics
They don't do that there. But Banfield's pet plan for puppies has that included in the monthly plan cost. Wright Way may spade/neuter prior to adoption depending on age.... That you'll have to check with them.
I think that you can do both. And get a chip too.
I believe it's under $200, but I would double check their website to be 100% sure.
Try signing up at Pet Finder. Search by breed type and location to home. They will send you email alerts whenever one is posted feom various shelters.
Morton Grove location isn't that far away from Schaumburg. We came from Greenfield, WI to Morton Grove because of the positive reputation. It was worth the drive.
You must call them leave a message or you can go online to sign up they'd be more than happy to have you.
I'm not sure. I got the impression they do but don't quote me on that 😀
Murphysboro. Its on their website under CONTACT US.
They may. Check on their website. They post pictures etc of available dogs.
The adult dogs are about 335, puppies around 385, but I would look at the website as prices can differ. The quality of service and amazing staff is worth the extra money.
Oh gosh, call them. If there are Yorkies there, I'm sure they're needing a home.
They have all kinds of lovely pups, I'm right down the block from them and see the volunteers walking them all day long. Adopt, don't shop.
Depending on the age of the pig someone may want 2 adopt if they have a pig that is lonely, if it's a younger pig, the Fishbowl in Evanston may take your pig in. Good Luck!
Please note: Wright-Way Rescue only adopts to applicants who are at least 21 years old. Applicants aged 18-20 will be considered with additional references. If you are under 21, an adoption counselor will be in touch for more information.
Ugh...yes. If you were to, unfortunately, not be able to care for the animal anymore, they want you to return the pup to them.
Yes! They offer low vaccine days! Not sure when, but I have seen it posted on their facebook page.
Healthy surrenders are accepted under certain circumstances. Call WWR for details.
New costs on website. I think it's under $100 plus cost of take home pain meds. If vaccines not up to date, bring pet into Low Cost Vaccine Clinic on Saturday Nov 24th, 2:30-4:30pm. No appt needed.
There is a junior volunteer program, but I'm not aware of the rules. Call WWR and ask for Carol.
Variety of dogs and puppies, this is a shelter.
Yes. No need to make an appointment.
Check the website for Maltese.
Yes but there might be a waiting period for there to be room and you don't get any money back.
Just press option 2 and keep trying!
They do not. Sorry. Try red door rescue.
Call the office
The southern Illinois location is simply an intake center. Once an animal shows up on the Wright-Way website it is usually only a matter of 2-3 weeks until they come up to Morton Grove. Morton Grove is where the actual adoptions take place. The best thing to do is apply online, get approved for adoption, then call Monday-Friday to place a reservation on the animal you are interested in. That was they will be held in a rear area until you have met the animal and decided if you want to adopt. Hope this helps 😊
Murphysboro, Illinois
They mostly get mixes but what they have changes often
They want all volunteers to be at least 18 for liability issues.
It's 385 for a puppy; 335 for adult which will already be seated or neutered. Sometimes there are dogs for whom the fee is prepaid and there are events when adult dogs are at a lower adoption fee. You should checkout Facebook or Instagram to keep up with these events.
No, no free puppies here..... We paid 350$ for our puppy which included shots and microchip. We also adopted an older dog which was the same price. Money goes back towards the shelter which is a great way to help!
50/50... if you find the pet you want, then go for it... we got a dog from Wright Way little over a year ago and here's my 3 cents... 1- Don't trust their classification of dogs on their website (hounds, shepherds, etc...). Our dog was supposed to be a hound, but now after a year, it's VERY clear he's a shepherd... totally opposite breeds, not even close. 2- Wright Way claims ALL their dogs are given de-worming medication and are evaluated by their vet. This is NOT true. Within 1 week, our dog had worms. Remember, worms take 2-3 weeks to mature inside a dog's gut, so clearly Wright Way lied to us. Rocky also had a large swelling under his eye when we took him home. 3- Wright Way charged $415 for Rocky... thinking back, I think that's pretty steep for a rescue. All in all, we love Rocky unconditionally and would never return him... but I feel there are better rescues out there
The age limit for kids by themselves is 17, if you are going to come with an adult, you can most likely volunteer there if under the age of 17. Also I am under the age of 17 and do volunteer there, sometimes they have to keep a limited amount of younger volunteers. Wright-Way does appreciate all the thoughtfulness of the people out there, and thank you for wanting to help out! :)
Many adoptions happen daily. You may want to call or check out the website.
Always can use volunteers. Call and ask for Chris. Chris is my sister.
It's online under the shop link, but you can also fill it out at wright way.
Their website is amazing. Yes they have kittens, and you can see all available kittens (and all pets for that matter) right there.
Look under shop for apply to adopt. You can also do it in person at the adoption center.
They almost certainly would
Is there any people there that speak Spanish to help right now
