If you complete an application and are approved, they will hold a dog for you based on an appointment time for you to come in and meet the dog. My understanding is many of the pets are with foster families, so they make these appointments to allow time for the foster family to bring the pet in on the day you schedule. So it isn't really a matter of how long, it's based on when you schedule the appointment to meet the pet.
