Great clean beach. Not as many weeds as some of the other beaches in the area. The walk to the beach was enjoyable

No campsites. Dogs only allowed on the silver leaf trail (not over the bridge or on the beach). Beautiful local spot to see wildlife, rent a kayak, spend the day on the beach. No lifeguards. Wonderful nature center and gift shop. Plenty of Rangers to help you both at the gate and on the premises.
Just Kayak's, very stable, single and double, just replaced this year.
The Park opens at 8:00 am, Nature Center and Beach Outfitters Gift Shop open at 9:00 am. The free tram runs from 10 am to 4 pm.
If you want shells go to the spoil island 1/2 mile south of Munyon Island. You're out of the park there.
Yes. Fishing is aloud. Walk north from the stairs and you'll have the breach to yourself for fishing.
If you look on the website, it clearly says dogs on leashes are permitted
Grilling is normally allowed in the picnic and pavilion areas, but during this time grilling is not permitted.
We fared very well after Dorian, some large debris on the beach, not too much erosion. Just lately we have had some erosion from the rough surf and very high tide, but MacBeach is still beautiful.
Please do not anchor - MacArthur Beach is a protected home for 7 species of sea grasses which could be damaged. Thanks for asking!!
NO, clothing is NOT optional. It is NOT a nude beach.
uh yessse
No camping. Not sure about pet
There are signs that say saltwater crocs. In Florida regardless of where it is, if there's water, there could be a gator. The place is great. We didn't see any when we visited
I don't think so. There may be a few small ones but it's not really a crabbing spot
No, and they don't want you fishing on the boardwalk. You can fish in the estuary or on the beach.
Yes you can. But you might need walk little long from parking lot to the beach.
That is such a silly question... everyone is welcome... dumb people are fed to alligators 🙄😀
The rate is by Car, $5
Dogs are allowed in parking areas and the SatinLeaf trail. They are not allowed on the boardwalk nor beach side.
No, MacArthur Beach is an environmental preserve Park, established to protect our fragile ecosystems for present and future generations to discover and experience. There is no camping nor high-impact activities, but we do offer a rare glimpse of the subtropical coastal habitat that once covered southeast Florida. Nestled on an Atlantic Ocean front barrier island, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park is the only state park in Palm Beach County. Exploring almost two miles of pristine beach and swimming, snorkeling and fishing in the clear blue waters of the Atlantic are only the beginning of the fun you can have at the Park. Other amenities include the Welcome Center, Beach Outfitters Gift Shop, Kayak Rentals, a children’s playground, nature trails, and picnicking facilities. You might want to take advantage of the many Special Events offered. Open daily, we offer something for everyone!
No, John D. MacArthur Beach State Park was founded as an environmental preserve to protect our fragile ecosystems. There are no nude beaches in the Florida Park Service.
Look online for high and low tides.
It is the Atlantic Ocean and barracuda are a native species. No, we have not had any reported incidents.
No, motorized boats are not allowed on Park waterways, so no ramp. We do have a public launch area for kayaks and paddle-boards.
The Park closes at sunset 365 days a year. Currently that is 8:30 pm. The gate will close at 8:05 pm. Thanks for asking!
Our kayaks are sit-on-top and built to hold up to 325 lbs individuals. I believe your friend would be fine, and he is welcome to give it a try.
Yes, there is a wonderfully stocked gift shop with jewelry, snacks, books, trinkets, toys, and lots of things related to nature.
Yes it is allowed from the beach as long as it is done safely and so as to not disturb or endanger other Visitors, our native wildlife or either of our reefs. Boards may not be loaded onto trams to cross to the beach but you may carry them. It is not allowed in the estuary. Thanks for checking with us!
No there is no access from the beach.
Absolutely. I took my 5 and 7 year old there yesterday. There's no lifeguard, so it's on you to watch your kids, but the beach itself is beautiful and my kids loved it.
National Parks and State Parks are totally different entities, state parks receive no federal funding, so no, federal passes are not accepted. Friends of MacArthur Beach State Park offers several levels of memberships with many benefits - http://www.macarthurbeach.org/membership/ Florida State Parks offers discounts to Retired U. S. military, honorably discharged veterans, active-duty U. S. military and reservists; validation required - https://www.floridastateparks.org/fees
It gets full so get there early , kayak is from 9am-4pm Park opens real early people are. Already making lines 9am to sunset
There are showers on the walkway when you are coming out of the beach.. and there are restrooms after you cross the bridge back to the park
Park opens at 8am and closes at sunset... Rent kayaks at 9am-3pm
I have been there more times than I can count and have never seen one. They put up signs but I'm guessing that's more to cover themselves incase something does happen.
It's $5 tp park and you can rent canoes as well get a tour of it's natural area.
Alligators stick to fresh water. I mean, I guess you could make the case that there are saltwater crocodiles in S. Fl, but that's outside the question.
