The service is like trash. Very very bad service, I’m trying to renew my passport, and they first ask me to provide evidence of my current address. After I provided that, they used similar reason to ask me to provide more evidence. They are intentionally trying to waste your time. People work here is a shame to represent Chinese people. 🤮

As we all know, the mother of the Chinese embassy in the United States died, so everyone looks like they owe you money, the Chinese crematorium in the United States, right?
How to do it? Our application has been sent to the consulate for more than a month. Then it fell to the sea. No one answered the phone at all. No one answered emails or faxes. Really don't know what to do

There is no expedited passport exchange! Last time I went to help my dad change the staff there, and later found that the website also wrote: http://www.chinaconsulatesf.org/chn/qianzhen/fzlxz/t1236568.htm

Unfortunately to tell you, this increase in the efficiency of the Chinese government is limited to the mainland, and none of the overseas consulates has been praised.
Hello! My situation is similar to yours. I did it in early February, and I haven't received it for more than four months. Fortunately, I received an email reply, saying that it was sent to me in mid-May. It can be present for more than three weeks, and I don’t know where it is! UPS couldn't find the records they sent back at all, and there was no reply after sending the email again. . . I was anxious and uncomfortable, and there were a few big bubbles on my mouth these days, alas. . . . Did you receive it now? If not, what should we do? Did you apply for a replacement passport if you lost it? If you can see this message, can you please update your CASE? Thank you!
My passport has expired for more than a year due to the epidemic. I am waiting for my appointment number on the online open day in May. When I say that the appointment starts at 10:00 am, the red 600/600 will pop up on the date to indicate that the appoin

I also encountered the same situation. After I filled out the application form, I couldn't make an appointment. I feel very surprised, saying that 600 places are released every week, but on the first day it shows that 600 people have booked full! There is no day in May that shows blue that can be reserved. Now that June is over, I still haven't got the chance to make an appointment. The phone could not be reached, and no one returned the email. Was the consulate closed during the epidemic?
As a resident of Ohio, you would need to go to the New York consulate for your visa. China is very picky about your jurisdiction. I just finished this process for my work visa. I had to send documents to two different Chinese consulates based on where my document (diploma, teaching license) originated. I will need to go to San Francisco when I need to complete my visa because I reside in a state in that jurisdiction. It’s also a very long process.. please start as soon as you can. Talk to the consulate directly when you have questions, because apparently their requirements change fairly often. Each consulate can have different requirements too.

No you don't. But you need to be there before 7am to ensure you to submit your visa application before they close. The line is usually long and slow. Also, be sure to bring all necessary documents for the visa application, ie make copy of your driver license, passport, flight info, etc.

You should go there and ask information once your inside. I would recommend not going early in the morning because of large lines. Best to go to the counsalate is generally from about 12 noon to 230 lines are shorter. Wednesday day generally being the best day.
Early in the morning usually theres one line for everything after awhile they divide up the crowd into 3 lines 1. Visa applications 2. Documents 3 passport pickups..
Once you get past security and inside the counsalate you will see a machine asking you for purpose of visit punch the number that corresponds to your situation you will then get a number. Thats the number they will call when its your time to be served. They do have a information line once your inside the people there will be able to tell you what to do according to your situation
Good Luck my advice when u go is to be patient

They do have transit visas but there are strict limits on time and place. I was only there (Xian) for 4 days and required a visa (US citizen). My guess is that you need one.
I will be flying to Shanghai and several days later going to Macau for a few days and then returning to the mainland for another week. Do I need a "One entry valid for 3 months" visa or a "Two entries valid for 3 to 6 months" visa? It is all China!
