Retired Navy, 30 years. Still currently living in the area but have been in Texas for five months working on our new house. I was told today that my prescription couldn't be refilled without an office visit. Ordinarily this would not have been an issue. After explaining my current situation and location and that I intended on being seen there again prior to our departure, the refill was still denied. Thank you for your service!!!

I personally have had 3 bad experiences in the last 5 months, rude unhelpful and their PA blamed me for her not following up on something that then got canceled. One Dr told me he had no time to look at my chart to give me results. Absolutely horrible.

Would not recommend: I usually do not leave bad reviews, because I like to spread positivity not negative, however I believe it's important to voice what just happened to me. I am new to the area, I relocated to Chico last fall, it has been difficult locating a new primary care provider as it seems providers are quite backed up in this area. I finally got a lead for Adventist Health Feather River, and they got me on their schedule to see one of their doctors, but there was a two and a half month wait to get in for my first appointment. I waited patiently, and today, exactly one week before my first scheduled appointment, they contacted me via phone and left me a voicemail saying my doctor that I was scheduled to see is leaving their practice and their cancelling my initial appointment. I called them back and voiced concern, that I had already waited over two months since scheduling to get in, in the hopes they would try to transfer me smoothly to one of their other doctors, and the wait would be minimal. Instead, the receptionist said I could sign up with one of their other doctors, but the next appointment is out to July, when I voiced that I have already waited almost three months as it is, she said she could give me some "numbers for other clinics in town." When I said that this isn't helpful, as I can look those numbers up myself and that is not the same as ensuring continued coverage for existing patients when a clinician leaves a practice, she hung up on me. Yes, I wasn't yelling cursing or being unreasonable, she just plain hung up on me like I didn't even matter as a person, after I waited all this time for an appointment. I just thought everyone should know, that's how much they care at Adventist Health Feather River that their patients receive timely care.

The hospital has been closed since the fire . You should take this sight down it is very misleading.

i wanted to find out did people go to this hospital because of the fire im trying to find my dad
It's so bizarre (and yet so encouraging) to hear how far away people are hearing about our little town. Thank you for your prayers. They're very needed and appreciated. -One of the hospital staff from AHFR.
Call main numbers, nurses are will talk to you and refill RX's
Monday thru Friday 7 to to 430pm
Yes. The clinic is still there.
All Adventist or Feather River clinics/doctors/dentists accept medi-cal.
Should open at 9
Yes, but you'll be waiting for a long time in the ER
They maybe closed due to the fire. You may have to contact Adventist Health in Chico for an appointment. Good luck...
I don't think the health center is open on Christmas eve no. Im in ultrasound department and i know we won't be up there at this time. Your best bet is ER.
Still standing did not burn
Yes, the hospital on Pentz Rd and the Adventest Health clinic survived the fire and you can call and get information. Sorry that you weren't answered sooner. I found the health system for low income people is very sad and bad in my experience here in Redding, so I drive 4 hrs round trip to the Adventest Health clinic where I get excellent care and they talk WITH me and explain what is happening. They are friendly and helpful and also have lab and limited physical therapy. I had been going here for 15 years before fire.
Adventist Health Feather River (AHFR) accepts and bills most insurance companies as a courtesy to patients. Your insurer is under contract with you and your employer. Each insurance policy varies. It is your responsibility to understand the terms and conditions of your insurance coverage. All patients are encouraged to call their insurance companies to obtain accurate information about individual benefits and any pre-certification or authorizations needed for services. Your insurer may require written or telephonic pre-certification or pre-authorization from you or your physician.
What is the actual fax# for FRHC?
Yes, yes. They can not only treat the pain, they can confirm you have a stone and arrange treatment to remove the stone in many cases with sound waves.
Those are questions for your health care provider
Put down the nail gun your confusing as a phone and take yourself to the ER
I would suggest calling the office and explaining to them your situation. They should be able to reschedule another appointment for you at that time. If you have to leave a message on their machine because they're not in the office, you should call a second time to confirm that they got your cancelation; some offices will charge you for missed appointments.
