This cemetery is beautiful. They do such a great job taking care of the grounds. Both my parents are buried here. Visited today the people that work here are very helpful.

Definitely call the cemetery office. I believe burial is free. My dad has a the gray granite Stone, he was buried in 1990. Not sure about the bronze plaques, sure the office staff will assist.
Pre arrangements made with funeral home, not National Cemetery.
Yes, the cemetery is open year round, regardless of the shutdown.
Veterans and spouses and/or handicapped dependent children are free. State veteran cemeteries sometimes have a residency requirement and there may be a charge for the spouse. We are a national cemetery.
It will be held May 27 at 1:00 at Bourne National Cemetery.
Thank you ...is there the opportunity for someone to get up to say a little something in memory of them?
Yes. My grandmother is buried side by side my grandfather.
Yes, burial has been paid for by your services to our country.
Yes, there are a few within a 10-20 mile radius
Yes you can. We have 2 kiosks where you can type in the last / first name and it will print out a map with the section and grave number on it.
Flag placement is tomorrow, Saturday the 26th at 10 a.m. and they will remain in place for a week to 10 days.
Yes! In fact, we wouldn't be able to place all the flags without the volunteers, so come on out, and thank you!
Contact the cemetery, but the veteran's spouse is allowed to be buried with the veteran. Both my parents are there, my mother went first, dad was the veteran. Both were buried, by our choice, in caskets. They will just inter the urn, and both names will appear on the new headstone. Hope that helps.
There's actually a multiple options if it's a private Cemetery when I get to work tomorrow I will like break it all down for you and send you a message sorry I'm not work right now good I appreciate your question
All grave markers are granite, with the exception of the original A and B niche walls. I don't believe there are any plans for using marble in the future.
Not really, the burial is up to the family
I don't think anyone will bother you there. No gates but some construction.
Contact Va Cemetary office
I think it stays up all year but I am not completely sure!
You will be given plots together and I also believe you can choose the earth or a wall but they will assign you the lot and spot number. I lost my fiancee in 2019. They give you very specific instructions on how many characters for the epitaph and u can pick a specific character i.e. cross, angel, praying hands and you'll have about 4 or 5 days to get your chosen info to them. Thank you for your service!
The cemetery does have limited hours . check the website.
No when that time comes your family or funeral director can call the national cemetery and verify your eligibility and coordinate plot and burial date.
I seen flowers at several grave sites when I visited on Friday. I'm not sure about the rules though. If you call them they are very helpful Floral arrangements accompanying the casket or urn at the time of burial will be placed on the completed grave. Natural cut flowers may be placed on graves at any time of the year. They will be removed when they become unsightly or when it becomes necessary to facilitate cemetery operations such as mowing. Water will be available at outside faucets from May 15 to September 1. Containers such as pots, baskets, etc. are not authorized. Privately owned, permanent in-ground flower containers are not allowed. Artificial flowers will be permitted on graves from Oct. 10 through April 15 and may be removed when their presence interferes with grounds maintenance. https://www.cem.va.gov/CEM/cems/nchp/massachusetts.asp
Yes fully operational
There is now a kiosk to give you the location in the main building.
Must have a marriage certificate.
Spouse and a totally disabled child. Recommend you talk to local veteran's agent. Space is not a problem, ample space.
Yes, absolutely. He deserves the respect and dignity that the National cemetery will provide. Thanks to him for his service. If you need help, the VA liaison was very helpful to us.
You should go to the office for full info on requirements for volunteers.
Always looking for volunteers. Wonderful place to volunteer.
You can search his name and life dates and it will tell you where he is. It might take a little bit for their system to be updated but it will tell you when it is.
Yes I believe she can be. My dad was buried there in 1990 and mom passed in 2012 but she chose not to. Give the cemetery office a call, they will provide details for you.
I'm not positive but I believe she would be entitled to her own plot. Shared are spouses
I'm pretty sure you can.... I dont think it closes but check website.
There are several Arenas
Section F is at the end of Veterans Way, the road to the right after passing the administration building. Maps are available at the kiosk or office when open.

Yes sir my dad past on Sunday afternoon, we have arangments to be there on Thursday, but really only have me and one cousin and to get the casket from the car to the special cart I thought u might need pall bearers, and the funeral home also bought it up,but did not have insurance and the expenses are up there and really can't afford to hire two more with me and my cousin..
Please call the Cemetary and make burial arrangements...then if you like call me..with the date and time
There is a kiosk at the door of the Administration building. You can type in the name of the person you are looking for, and print a map when you find the right person.
No, pets are not allowed.
Flag placement is this Saturday May 26th at 10 a.m.
I'm sorry to hear about your dad. You should contact the cemetary directly to arrange burial of his ashes.
Dex is correct. However, the arrangements for you and your wife to be buried next to your parents would only be made at the time of you or your wife's passing.
Hours are dawn to dusk. If you call on weekdays, they can tell you if snow is covering your loved one's resting place.
Christmas arrangements at Christmas, Easter arrangements. Fresh flowers all year, artificial flowers i believe is from Oct 10 thru April 1 Other than Holiday arrangements, I believe only flowers. Hope that helps!
More than likely, they are "essential personnel "
I believe they will be there until the middle of January
I believe dawn to dusk, daylight hours.
Yes
Usually it's a concrete liner.
Check out the Bourne National Cemetary website.. They would have some helpful infos.
At the Administration building, there is a kiosk outside of the entrance. You can search by name to find the person you're looking for.
It usually takes about 6-8 weeks for the stone marker to arrive, after its been ordered. You can call the Administration building to see if its there.
