My parents remains are being buried in April. The sibling in charge of their remains said he was waiting for a burial date from the cemetery. It’s been almost two years, is that common? And we were told the burial is allowed only 15 min, correct?

Thank you ...is there the opportunity for someone to get up to say a little something in memory of them?

My dad is buried there, when he passed on in 1990, there was no waiting. I would definitely contact their main office to find out the exact details. The service is not at the gravesite. There is a memorial spot located not too far from the enterance where they do it. Ours was very brief, less than a half hour. My dad was career military, he'd be happy with the service given. I feel he was honored for his service very respectfully. Beautiful cemetery.

I attended a funeral this year and know someone else who was buried there last year and both had over a year of wait time. I wouldn't be surprised if the wait is closer to 2 years at this point. Burial is on a strict schedule. You can find the details on timing on the Arlington National Cemetery website.

Not unusual for burial of creamains to take place long after passing. Often New Englanders to retire in Florida but want to be buried back "home."

Well I can't say anything wrong, due to the fact I just lost my Dad in October 2018 and it was one week later I laid him to rest.
