Below is email that I sent to Sand Creek Animal Hospital last December- I have never left a Google review for anything, but felt I needed to regarding the treatment of our beloved 14 year old German shepherd that we put in your care for her entire life- and how you treated her when she needed your help most- It is beyond belief how insensitive, and uncaring this establishment has become. I started coming to your office with my first German Shepherd when you had just opened your office on Sand Creek Road. I found the facility to be clean, friendly and very professional, never too busy to answer questions or make us feel rushed. You took wonderful care of my dog for the almost 14 years that she Blessed our lives. I recommended your office to everyone I knew that was looking for a veterinarian. On Friday, August 6,2021 at 3:30 pm I phoned your office in despair that I could not get Hera up and she was unresponsive to any of our voices or gestures to get up. She was breathing heavily in short intervals, drooling and her eyes were not opening all the way. I described the situation at hand through tears and hyper ventilating. I told her I know this is the end for our girl and we most definitely needed to have her put to sleep. Again, I was in total despair as were my children who were home with me and could hear everything that was going on. I pleaded with your assistant to please help us and let me bring her over because I did not want my children to see her suffering any longer and my husband was not yet home from work. Your assistant put me on hold for approximately 3 minutes and came back on the line to tell me that they could not help me and to go to an emergency clinic. I was in shock and begged her again to reconsider as I did not know what else to do. She once again put me on hold for approximately 3 minutes and said she was going to get a Dr. I guess a Dr. came on the phone and had the nerve to tell me that your office had taken its last appointment and couldn't take any more because it was a Friday. This "Dr" told me that your office could not help my dog in her final moments and incredible moment of despair for our entire family and to go to an emergency clinic. It has taken me 4 months to discuss the loss of our precious Hera and write this email as to your establishment. It is still unbelievable how we were discarded by you. Even after this incident, I did not receive a call to see how everything turned out but I did receive the attached email telling me you have missed Hera Angel and it's time for her annual check up! Sickening, totally sickening. Now that I am able to speak about the loss of our Hera, I will be sure to share my story with everyone I know as I did when I recommended your office when you first opened

I have been bringing my fur family to Sand Creek Animal Hospital since 2009. Dr Carmichael is amazing. She takes the time to get to know each pet and their special needs. In my case that meant getting on the floor and building trust over a few visits. She is just as compassionate with the nervous pet parent taking the time to explain in detail any needed treatment or procedure. The facilities are clean and well thought out providing a separate cat waiting area and the staff are friendly and knowledgeable. I highly recommend them for a happy long term relationship.

This is by far the smartest group of DVM’s I have ever seen. I have gone there for years. They really know their stuff. That are constantly learning/training on new technology to be ahead of the curve. They are compassionate and really care about your situation. I have been other places. This is the best. Well Done Sand Creek Animal Hospital Well Done.

I've been taking my cat to a vet in Malta for years that kept just saying he has allergies. I take him here once and they find out (with a thorough* exam) he has teeth he needs to be pulled and polyps in his ear that needs surgery. I'm not at all mad they found more wrong with him, I am over the moon happy they actually found out what was wrong. They loved him and they were upfront with the prices and they gave a thorough paperwork. Definitely recommend and love deeply.

Hello Patrick, great question. We refer out out for TPLO and TTA surgeries. If you have any questions though, please call the hospital at 518-446-9171.
I love my dog and as far as expenditures go I would do anything to make sure that is health was where it should be. I knew going into this that I was looking at at least 300 to $500 a year for healthcare. Sand Creek animal hospital has always been there for me when I needed them and I trust their advice.
