BBS is supposedly giving an extension to those of us who have not been tested due to Covid. Pearson Vie is the new vendor for testing. You must ask BBS for a new authorization number for your extention, then you can schedule new date....beware, I have been test cancelled either for Covid or clerical error six times since PSI's departure nearly a year and a half ago. We may have to sue them both, BBS and Pearson Vue, for actively barring those of us from testing due to their inept handling of our right to test in a timely manner. I don't know about you but I have paid my dues and feel discriminated by these entities.

I don't know {for CA}. The BBS is a insulated fortress. They don't return voicemails, and calling seems futile. I've tried several times to get info on crisis certification with no success. Frustrating and self-defeating experience. In NJ, crisis work requires state certification. The route is clear and unequivical, and calling the staff at any screening center in any county of that state will be able to provide answers to any certification questions. I myself did so as a certified "Psychiatric Screener". So there!

I'm not sure you can renew if you haven't passed it. It depends if you have already failed it, or you simply haven't taken it. But if I were you I wouldn't let my license lapse it will just create more problems.

You will need to apply as an intern and when you do they will asses your education and let you know if you need to take any new classes. You may need to send in course descriptions of your classes you have taken

Yes, it is. I had the same question and asked bbs. Everytime you do not pass the law and ethics u will have to re take the 12 hour course. Hope this helps.

I would probably contact the training agency you use for your class. But depending on how severe your background is often the Board of Behavioral Science will allow people to appeal a decision if they can show significant turnaround.
