We need a list of bad contractors so we don't get ripped off. We're paying high property taxes so maintaining our properties is lucrative for the State. We need better service for our dollars. it takes months to get a contractor investigated. By the time they get to them, it's too late! With so many retirees, can't the State hire volunteers with to do some of the work?

This place is a complete joke. I’ve submitted all docs and fees 3 times in the past 5 months to get my pocket card and they keep on denying my applications. This is beyond frustrating and a perfect representation of how inefficient, outdated and corrupted anything that comes from this CA government really is. From the lazy and incompetent employees to an aspiring dictator. Simply awful.

Don’t know why you place so many low stars here! This is the only one! There’s no other to determine… Trying looking for another one with more stars

Your bonding company would need to do it for you.
Why would you tho? Work is work. Triggered much?
10% or $1000 whichever is less
Go to online services. And type your business name.
Contact the renewals department renewals@ cslb.ca.gov or you can call them at 916-255-4644
No more than 10% or $1,000. Whichever is less.
Go online to cslb.ca.gov and click on renew
Contact the license board
Their website (CSLB) has a section to search for contractor's license and if they're valid. https://www.cslb.ca.gov/OnlineServices/CheckLicenseII/CheckLicense.aspx
You need to have at least 48 months of experience in the D49 trade. Apply for the license and take the law/business exam. Get fingerprinted and purchase a license bond.
Actually, if it was a sole owner license, you can submit an application for original license, take the exams, and request to have the old license number reissued.
Only if the person is verifying the others experience.
Go to to board and have them look it up to see if it is still renewable.
You can do a license search on the cslb website. If you took the test but the class was never added to a license, then you would need to call the cslb. I have a number.
If you are the qualifier on the license and retire/disassociate from the license, someone will have to replace you as the qualifier. They'd have 90 days to do that.
Yes. The new license will be $530 plus a new bond.
They have 90 days to replace
No that's the board of registered nurses
Go to www.cslb.ca.gov and find the "Complaint" form. You can file it electronically or print and send it in.
(800) 321-CSLB (2752) - Dial 1, 2, then 9 to reach a live agent.
No you cannot. You cannot change the structure of the Partnership after it's issued.
I don't know but I work literally across the street and can find out for you in a few days
This all depends. If his sons are also part owners of the company, and they have no other employees, then he may not be required to carry workers compensation insurance. You would still want to verify he has general liability insurance, which would cover damage to your property. I hate the CSLB, but the person who answered you has to idea what they are talking about.
No
All tests are in English, but you can take a test with a translator.
Any job over $500 requires a license.
Many - depending on the type of license you want. Go online for more detail.
I believe 4 years if in a written contract, 2 years otherwise. But it probably also depends on the type of work
Yes.
