The smell of the room was almost unbearable. It smelled of an obnoxious cleaning solution and of faint cigarette smoke. It was supposed to be a non-smoking hotel. Even the elevator smells of cigarette. The bathroom smelled worse. The cloth bathroom curtain smelled of a wet cloth that didn't properly dry. The hotel advertised on their front desk that they provide a shuttle to & from the hotel to the Staten Island Ferry DAILY at specified times. But when I inquired about it in the morning, the man at the front desk acted confused & asked me what day it was, then yelled at another guy & they talked then said ok. When I confirmed with the other guy if the shuttle leaves at 8am as scheduled, he shrugged & answered, "If that's what you say." The hotel provided complimentary breakfast. I didn't expect grand spread, but there were mornings that there were empty trays or containers. A drinking water container is by the bar with paper cups & juice is on the other end of the area. If the kitchen employee sees you turning around wondering where the cups are, he stares at you or ignores you & would not even ask if he could be of help. Obviously, customer service isn't a practice of people working in this hotel. I picked this hotel because it's a Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott. Boy - what a huge disappointment. If not for the price per day & on weekends, you would think you have mistakenly booked in a cheap inn.

We went to a PG baseball tournament for the dates of 7/15-7/20. The staff was amazing. Kudos to Nicole, Isabel, Lorie and Luis. Keep it up with the great work. I only spent one night there. The staff are super friendly even though I arrived really really late. The room was nice and comfortable. I really had good night sleep there. The checking in and out was fast and simple. I would recommend this for all my family and friends.

The front desk staff were very nice. My only issue was that housekeeping only came to clean the bathroom once and I had to ask. They didn’t come to clean the room. It needed to be vacuumed, I had to ask for towels, wash cloths, I changed the bedding on one bed. I had to gather the trash. Once they knew we were staying for over a week they didn’t bother to clean the room at all. I had to ask for everything.
