Hmmm where to begin with this one? The service and Mimosas are good. The food looks good but lacks seasoning. The grits are creamy but bland. Biscuits are fluffy. Catfish fried to perfection, but again the seasoning is lacking. Hot sauce should be an option, not a requirement for seasoning. Not sure if the food is always like this. Essence Fest weekend applied a significant amount of pressure on the local businesses.

We ordered takeout and it was ready on time the salads were delicious. They had sweet potato pie that we’ve been really looking for. Saved me the last brownie when we called. The line was out the door amazing. Nice folks working there as well. They can afford to use a little better plastic wire

Renowned local restaurant. Well managed waiting line and quick to order inside. Loving historically old fashioned but still good taste. It was mediocre pricing but I’m satisfied with overall quality of foods and services. I highly recommend if you can’t afford other luxury restaurants nearby.

Look for lines when you go places in NOLA because that's where the good stuff is, and Mother's is no exception. The staff is lovely and efficient, the signature Bloodys are delicious, and the food is very good. Also there is nothing 'greasy spoon' about this place, despite that being in the descriptor. It's in a really cool industrial space that is both funky and a clear sign that their priorities are straight-- you spend the money on making good food and people will come. (And they do. We waited for nearly two hours for a table for brunch and regretted nothing. NOTHING.) Speaking of good food, if the sign says 'Best Baked Ham' and you like ham even a little bit, you really (really.) have to order the ham. Will never eat baked ham again unless it's from Mother's-- it's the most fork tender, juicy piece of ham I have ever had. Well worth the wait and will definitely be back to try other dishes on the menu.

Yes. Breakfast is served all day. They are known for breakfast. And make sure u get the biscuits!
It's definitely a go to for breakfast but just beware of lines that go out the door.
The line moves very quickly, but there can be a lack of seating.

Yes. Chicken and pork., also with seafood.
They now ship nationwide with Gold Belly. Orders can be place on Mother's website.
Not sure about preparation protocol but family member has red shellfish allergy and ate breakfast and lunch without issues. I guess it depends on the severity.

They make you do this at most sit down restaurants in NOLA. I was told that it was to make it easier for covid contact tracing in case of outbreak.
You can get any thing from a very reasonable breakfast special 11 dollar Eggs any way you like, Breakfast meats, pancakes etc. Grits that absolutely delicious You will not be disappointed
If you order and sit down, folks will bring your food out to your table. If you want more food or drink, you go back through the line and pay again. Cafeteria style.

Mandy, interior seating only at this time (three dining rooms). Thank you for your interest in Mother's.
Jeremy, Mother's was featured in one of the pilot episodes. We authorized them to create a replica in the studio (more practical for filming). It was spot on!
I'd call to speak with a manager
Yes and yes to both questions. Great ham!
Yes they do. Go to their website and order with Gold Belly.
VIDEO https://wgno.com/2014/08/29/crimestoppers-carnivale-and-mothers-roast-beef-and-debris-recipe/ You can find the recipe on that page. We tried to paste it here, but it's too long and exceeds the amount of allowable space. If the link above does not work, we created a back-up here (without the video): https://goo.gl/D5p9qv Thanks!
Tipping is how folks in the restaurant business live! Pay is better at Mothers, however if you get good service, a few extra dollars gos ablong way!
Yes, served all day (7AM - 10PM). We offer an early bird special weekdays before 9AM.
Don't know the email but we enjoyed the food. Now the portion for the money you pay was our only issue.
Mother's is open from 7AM until 10PM. Lunch is served beginning at 10:30 AM but breakfast is served all day from open to close.
Was there in New Orleans the other day but I didn't have time to look up from my meal. I was very focus. I put all my attention on my meal. The food was awesome and the service great. Maybe the next time I won't be so focus on the pleasures of Mother's meals and I will have a look around.
You wait in line and as you pass the food that is already prepared they wive you a plate. If it requires special preparation you order it at the cashier. Once paid you get a number and they bring the remaining food to your table.yeah! No tipping policy. I do it anyway
