Tipping is how folks in the restaurant business live! Pay is better at Mothers, however if you get good service, a few extra dollars gos ablong way!
Coming from a background where my mom was a waitress at a diner i will always tip even if signs to not are posted. I have tipped while visiting the Mother's for lunch because our waiter was fantastic. Hope this helps 👍
The signs reflect the fact that tipping is not customary in our establishment and our employees are paid higher wages as a consequence of this policy. We have a number of our most senior employees interfacing with our customers and their wages are far higher than any establishment where tipping is customary. The employee violated policy (which they signed). We encourage all guests to report inappropriate remarks to a manager on duty while you are in the restaurant. Jennifer, please email us with details (date, time, description of the food runner, where you were seated, etc.). mthrrest AT aol DOT com | Thanks and our apologies.
The deal is that they are going to take care of you no matter what. You don't have to say thank you either, but no one is going to arrest you if you do. Who doesn't ever want to get a tip?
We were never pressured to give a tip. Sorry you had that experience.
