Mac Properties - Kansas City Apartments

I moved from 520 East after 2 months for an issue with roaches from a neighbor that Mac couldn’t seem to resolve. I was told to stay a few weeks so “nothing travels with me.” So I paid to put my things in storage and stay at a hotel, with my son until move day. See photos. Today 05/14 is move day, and guess what? The air conditioner in the unit won’t turn on, on a very hot day. Likely will need to continue staying at a hotel tonight because, again, no air. This is the worst managed company I’ve ever experienced, no communication between departments and you would think that on move day things would have been checked to ensure that are working. Hoping to get some media to document what folks living at these properties are experiencing while paying rent that is far from cheap.

May 10 2022 received yet another email saying that mac will be “inspecting the appliances” absolutely ridiculous property management. April 28 2022 Unfortunately Mac Properties is not a very good property management company. The security of the building has been terrible and vandalism has been common. I work nights and have asked them repeatedly to call ahead before they enter my apartment for Maintenance. They don’t. I also don’t understand why this month they have needed to access my unit 3 different times for maintenance inspections, the didn’t have a response to that questions other than they have appliance problems, there are no appliances in the bedroom to my apartment so I don’t see why they attempted to enter my bedroom. They are not organized at all. Many of my neighbors are highly disappointed as well.

I have thought a long time about what I was going to saw when writing this review, I just can’t find the words to express how negatively I feel about this company/building. If you like non responsive, snippy management and maintenance that can’t fix the water heater in your building for ten days, can’t fix an elevator that’s been broken for weeks, can’t figure out the fire alarms that go off multiple times a week because they’re “waiting on a part” or they’ve “already been made aware of the situation”, or maintenance that let’s you be locked out for hours when your key stops working, then I guess go ahead and move in. If not, I do not recommend Mac. I have never written such a strong review but it is the jankiest, smelliest, loudest apartment I have ever lived in. Neighbors let their dogs go to the bathroom in the halls and don’t clean it up, there was mold in the gym for months before they did something, the dryers are constantly broken. The list goes on. I have hated every second of living here and can’t wait for my lease to be over.

it hasn’t been too bad living in the apartment i haven’t had to call for any maintenance for my own appliances, but the management could definitely be better. i feel they constantly ignore requests. the washer and dryers have been broken non stop and it takes them forever to respond, and almost every time i’ve gotten a notification saying they are fixed, i go out and check and they’re still broken. we have neighbors who always prop the locked doors open and make the building smell like cigarettes and when we asked about it we were told that they would be moving out at the end of the month because of it and they never did move. there’s always lots of dog waste outside, and when i was locked out of my apartment, i called for help and waited over an hour just to get a call saying they forgot to call the locksmith to let me in!!!
