2.5 STARS I lived in IDENTITY Miami for the past year (08/2021 to 07/2022) and I wanted to share my experience. The appliances were top notch and very thing is modern. I also liked how everything (water, cable etc.) was included in rent. I never liked how I was getting constantly overcharged for electricity. My roommate was always in her room and I purposely only used the fan for 2 months and I was still charged extra. I feel like if you're going to charge extra for the ceiling fan, make sure the AC actually works. The worst part about living here was the elevators. The elevators were breaking down too often for the amount I was paying a month for rent. There were moments where I was waiting for the elevator as long as 15 MINUTES! Like that is ridiculous. Parking was another big issue for me. You can't have people staying over night because they'll get towed and if the car isn't under your name, the tow truck company will not give them the car back. Management is also a little to be desired. They are not constant with their practices and one person will say something and someone else will say another. Before you tell a tenant information, make sure you guys are all on the same page. I'm not the pickest person so take my review as you will. I feel like if it was between IDENTITY and another student housing, it would be a toss up. IDENTITY isn't the worst but they definitely need to improve.

The office told me I could use a parking spot in "retail parking" then they had my car towed. Towing company required a physical, signed, notarized letter from my parents to release the car. A scan or fax wasn't sufficient. My parents live five hours away. Bruce (the property manager) in the office was abrasive and refused to work with us on the issue. I stood there, explaining the issue, and Bruce refused to pay any attention because my sister's name was on the lease, not mine. "You're not a resident, so I don't have to listen to you." Then he turned to my sister and said that even though the office misinformed us, they weren't liable because of an email sent out in JANUARY (this review was written at the end of July). "The fine print of the email clearly says you can't park there." This is a recurring excuse used by the property. ("Only half the elevators are working, but we're not liable because we sent you an e-mail six months ago." "The power is frequently out, but that e-mail last year says it's okay." "The pool is noisy all the time, but the e-mail says it's acceptable.") A normal person might've said something like: "The office should not have misinformed you. I'm sorry your car was towed. Here's what we're going to do to fix it." The man clearly wasn't raised right. Apathetic, poorly-trained, incompetent staff.

My kids had both sent in an application and paid $50 each. The unit was labeled as $1300 for a two bed room. They had sent us lease information ready to be signed. We scheduled a tour to look at the unit, but when we arrived they told us all units are sold out for A YEAR. We drove an hour and took the day off for the appointment. I don’t understand why they would charge application fees, send lease information, AND schedule a tour if all the rooms are already sold out. We feel completely baited by the price and ripped off by the company. I wonder how many families have been ripped off in the same

The young lady that answered the phone was quite unprofessional. When I expressed my concern to her she lacked care and empathy. It’s quite relevant that she is too familiar and comfortable with law enforcement visiting their property for illegal activities. Out of several floors located at this establishment she had the audacity to send me a picture of a missing poster (National Missing and exploited Children) of my daughter on 2 billboards. When I inquired on what floors it would be in and what would occur if they were removed she failed to respond in a timely manner. Instead other events unfolded which lead me to believe that she contacted the tenant to which officers had questioned about my 16 year old whereabouts. Crossing my fingers that the management company has professionals who have integrity, work ethic, believe believe in proactive solutions. I’ve visited a few of their units. Proceed with caution. Outweigh your options prior to committing to this dump. Follow up: The management crew sent me a disturbing email that didn’t show , empathy, care nor concern. They basically told me it’s not their problem and to contact law enforcement. South Florida is on of the top destinations for child and human trafficking. I would never recommend this company. They don’t offer proactive solutions or address anything. That includes with their tenants and the poor maintenance of their facilities.

I don’t think you have to be a student of FIu but the majority of residents are students
