Easy trail but really nice scenery, went early in the morning like 6 am and no one was around for really cool and not hot during that time

Really easy, paved trail, no more than 20 minutes of hiking if you want it to be short. The falls are easy to hike to and the rocks are fun to hop around. Great for kids but keep an eye out if they get close to the water. In run off season it'll be more dangerous but I went in October and it was safe.

Most people probably visit Whiskeytown NRA to escape the heat by boating on Whiskeytown Lake. Surprisingly though, there are many other recreational activities to enjoy. Besides camping, there is a lot of history in the area to discover. The area also has some terrific trails (there are 4 waterfalls in the park), including Crystal Creek. It is a short well-maintained (cement path) trail that is certainly stroller and wheelchair friendly. The waterfall is beautiful, and certainly well worth the walk. There are also some picnic tables nearby (please pack it out). Shortcoming is that the parking area is small.

Really nice view with a short walk from the parking lot. Easy access for strollers or wheelchairs.

It is a paved pathway, so shoes just need to be comfortable. Tennis shoes, sandles, lightweight hiking boots, whatever works well for you. From memory, the trail to the lower falls is only about 1/4 mile. There is also a picnic area near the falls. Two shortcomings: the parking lot (has vault toilets) is small; the trail is mostly exposed to sun.
From Redding to the Whiskeytown visitor center is about 8 miles. Continue on CA-299 westbound for approximately 8.5 more miles (past Tower District). Turn left onto Crystal Creek Road for approximately 2 miles. Turn left at the sign to continue to the trailhead parking lot. Total driving distance is approximately 18.5 miles.
