OMG! I haven't had a cut of beef this good in forever. You won't get fresher or tastier salad, or main meal. Unfortunately the small portions were too much to allow me to try desert. You do have to pay for the quality but it's worth it. A bucket list restaurant. If you want reservation, call at least 6-8 weeks or more In advance. They are that busy but if you show up at 4:30 when they open, they do their best to accommodate walk ups. We did that and were seated at 5pm and had a cocktail in the lounge while waiting. They also have some lounge seating available. Stop by and enjoy!

House of Prime Rib specializes in prime rib and the perfect sides. They do have fish depending on what is fresh & in season. Reservations are a must and very difficult to get. We booked in October for February to celebrate a birthday. The staff is very well trained and excels at top notch service. The price of your prime rib cut includes the accompaniments. The bread is fresh & warm, the salad & baked potatoes are dressed table-side with flare. The cocktails were made to perfection. If you are not a red meat eater, which I love but it doesn't love me, so I ordered the fresh halibut and it was excellent. I did have a bite of the prime rib and it was melt in your mouth yummy, I wished I could have enjoyed more of it. Everyone order the King Henry the VIII cut, so they would have leftovers. We sat by the kitchen and I counted 25 enormous prime ribs coming out on the way to their carving stating and gave up. We had the creme brule for dessert. This is must for your bucket list.

Amazing, as always! This was our second time back since 2018 and were blown away again by the quality of food, service, ambiance. Service is attentive and prompt, food came in generous portions tasting delicious! I got the English Cut and really enjoyed it (thinner cut). Sides were all delicious and their dessert was also amazing (got the English Trifle which I enjoyed). Honestly, food is so good here and the quality is consistent. Can’t wait to come back!

From service to leaving the experience is par non. Michael our hostess was great and our server Marcus was amazing. From the knowledge to the personality this restaurant has an amazing staff and they are here to serve. Prime rib - so juicy and tender it melts in your mouth. Make sure to try the complimentary sauces they are equally as delicious as the rest of the food and compliment the prime rib well. Mashed potatoes - so flavorful and delicious Creamed spinach - was creamy and fresh Cream of corn - was very flavorful and succulent Cream brûlée - I must say one of the best I’ve ever had English trifle - as good as you’d expect anywhere! Fresh fruit for sure. One thing about house of prime rib is they are always consistent. If you want an experience par none ask for Marcus and be ready to have one of the best serve you!

Yes they will serve it how you want it cooked.
It depends on the cut you would like. On average about $100 for two without drinks. The City Cut - $40.45 House of Prime Rib Cut- $43.85 The English Cut- $43.85 King Henry VIII Cut- $46.85 Prices are for individuals. Included in price are: Salad bowl Mashed/baked potato Yorkshire pudding Creamed spinach
There us often a line just to check in for reservations, so they do not have time to answer the phone. Reservations must be booked months in advance, the only other option is to wait in an hour long line at opening each day.
Prime ribs are always fatty. You have the option of trimming it, but fat is flavor
There are different cuts, and they are different prices, but range from about $40-50. This includes salad, Yorkshire pudding, choice of potato, and choice of creamed veggie. Alternatively, you can get the a la carte version, which is the same thing but without the salad, and it's a few dollars cheaper.
Yes
FOR SURE! But you wont want too! The prime rib is AMAZING and the mash mouthwatering! It's better to get your own and have leftovers!!! Midnight snack😉 Hope you ENJOY!
They stop seating people after 10 p.m.
We went there the day of. Can't recall which day. It was busy. But we were flexible.
Well I went friday, unusually busy said the staff. I hung out for 90minutes in the hallway seating area which ain’t all bad and you can enjoy cocktails. I got there at 6, so maybe gettibg there earlier on a weekday, 40minutes? In any case when you go in, you go way to the right end of the bar and get yourself on the list. Enjoy
No they did not mention nothing about vaccination. Also myself and 3 of my family members spent close to almost 400.00 and my cousin mention that its my wife birthday to the waiter and he said happy birthday why my wife didnt get a pic and a birthday cake.
Sorry man I haven't been back there since last month but I'd recommend calling again and again until you finally get an answer and I definitely recommend buying a tile tracker for your keys so you can find them easily.
See above
Yes is safe they work around very well
OpenTable is the only way to get a reservation. If it's unavailable, it means they're fully booked. Your best bet is to walk in when they open and you'll have a very good chance of being seated. Calling won't help as they'll just tell you to show up and they'll seat you if possible.
The only thing that matters is where it's located now 🙂
No, they don't.
If you are just picking up forctake out...they will let you park in the pre valet area forcfree...just let them know that your doing take out.
I think in the past if u eat the whole King Henry's cut... u can order another one. But things could have changed as everything has! Call and ask them. They are GREAT!
Yes. Don't forget your credit card. Food is excellent.
normally they have zero outdoor seating so the only outdoor scene I can think of they have now is on the sidewalk out in front on Van Ness.
Try calling the day of. I have had luck with that when I go. If you drop in, you may have to wait for up to 2 hours depending on the size of your party.
Call the restaurant directly
I think I saw a link on their website to purchase gift certificates.
You can walk in but as mentioned you will have a long wait. However, we came in as couple so we only waited about 45 minutes. Go with less people and get there early and your wait will be less.
I believe it is $20. However' that was a couple of years ago.
Now is the time to make a reservation and I suggest that you do it for early evening or if they have the option of the last dinner or late evening customer service is very efficient enjoy
Yea, you can have a table for 1 but I'd try and sit at the bar so you can talk with other people.
If reach out to them directly for an answer to this one
They may, upon special request, but the place is not set up for casual dining. Expect table service and interaction with your server.
About $100.
It's about $45-50 depending on size but that includes all the sides and a rather impressive salad to start. For what you get I think it's good value for a special occasion.
The menu is probably online on their website..
You know I tell you the truth I paid 55 bucks and I left hungry I don't think I certainly don't think I got $55 worth of rustic atmosphere next time I think I'll just go to Cash & Carry and spend the money to get a whole ribeye or prime rib cook at home feed a family of 5 for under a hundred twenty bucks and I'd probably be happier than a beaver in a pond
They have a valet service but they do not have a dedicated parking lot. It is all curbside parking. I believe the valet is $10-15
House of Prime Rib season salt is just like Lawry's season salt, and yes they sell it at the restaurant.
There's no formal dress code, as far as I know. I've definitely seen people eat there in a nice t-shirt and jeans. That said, people do tend to dress up a tiny bit more around the holidays to a button down or sweater and jeans.
They have valet parking. Our cost was $15. You can sometimes find street parking.
Check their website. We were there at Thanksgiving and reservations at "normal" dining hours were not available until January,, otherwise as folks said, get in line at 4pm for a chance to get in without reservations.
You're looking at an average of around $45 per person. That's without wine or any drinks besides water. Price range from around $42 to $49. Dessert is not included so that's another extra if you want some. One dessert is more than enough to share. Wine starts at $10 a glass.
Michelle, you are hilarious!!!! You'd get meat sweats all day if they had bottomless meat. The prime rib cuts are HUGE portions. If you finish the first slice, you get the second one complimentary with extra sides 😉
It appears that they might be open, with adjusted hours. Call to get more information.
Cocktails at 4, dinner at 4:30 Sundays dinner at 4 However make your reservation 2 months in advance! Otherwise you'll be lucky to get in around 9pm if your trying to make a reservation anytime in the month out. We ate dinner there for my friends bday and made reservations 2 months in advance. Our reservation was for 4:30 on a Sunday and ALL TABLES WERE FULL
40 to 50 dollars do not include drink either.
Nope, I am 56. Born and raised in SF. I grew up 4 blocks from their Vam Ness location, and that place has always been there.
No, but it is appreciated when you dress up. When I came here as a kid, people understood that it is special and that they should dress up. Now I see people that look like they just don't care. Long story short, no but please dress nicely. :)
Open seating at the bar
Best bet is Valet,it is $10,worth it no walking or worries, they provide, especially after prime rib. Enjoy
No challenge. They give you a second English cut slice if you finish your first cut of meat. And you cannot take the seconds to go.
We brought a goliath and were charged $75.00. It's $20.00 per 750ml for the first two bottles. $25.00 per 750ml for the second two and $30.00 per 750ml for the third two. No bottle limit.
Just on the street or the valet which parks them on the street for u and brings it to u when ur done I believe it was 10 bucks for me personally the food is worth it
