It’s true that it was really difficult to get an appointment, but when I emailed them in May they did respond to my email on the same day at night (I was surprised they were still checking emails at night so I guess they are really working hard). At the time of appointment, the guy who helped me with my application was so nice and polite. He asked me how to pronounce my name and was calling me by my name the whole time. He even thanked me for my patience for the whole process at the end. It was a really pleasant experience!

It’s impossible to get anyone on the phone! Been calling for 2 days now every hour! Better luck in DC, NY, and any other consulate than this one. Truly disappointing…

The staff are really friendly and helpful! We were late for 30 mins due to unexpected traffic, but they kindly took us and let us relax. It IS challenging to get an appointment. We called but never got it through. We emailed several times but got spotty replies. Eventually we drove to SF and knocked on the door, and were told to email them to be put on the waiting list. They did call us one day and provided an available spot!! So all in all, once you get an appointment, it will be smooth.

Terrible service. Not answering the phone and when finally someone answered, he did not even introduce themselves, and began within 2 words into my sentence, screaming at the top of his lungs when I explained I had a technical difficulty with making an appointment. It was scary. My appointment confirmation when I figured the tech on my own, is still pending after a week. I have never in my life received a treatment like that, yelling abusively at me for asking a question and hanging up on me.

Easiest way is to just go there and wait until they have time to see you in order to check if they have time for an appointment at some point in the future.
Also between 2:30-3:30. In other words, either before they open to the public or after they close.
Your best bet its to send an email although I think that with one slot they would be very understanding as long as you inform them in advance.
As far as I know you need to contact them and book an appointment. I would suggest an email
I called and asked if they had a preferred places for passport photographs. They gave me a list of several places that I could go to have my photographs taken.
Green.card and form of identification like a passporf
Yes. But FYI this is posting a question about the consulate, not TO the consulate.
I would suggest applying 2 months in advance because they have limited personnel and the wait list is long
yes. but they are only open from 10 to 2pm. you jst have to keep trying.
No one pick phone. If they pickup they transfer it and again no one picks up. If someone does talk they ask you to call back in 15 min. When you call back they transfer call to send it to VM. Not sure how you get appointments for VISA. This was my initial experience, but when we went to the consulate we got got the appointment. The staff is super nice and friendly. The problem seems to be funding and not enough ppl to work. The visa process was very easy and the trip was extremely memorable. I wouldn't mind going back few more times.
If you want to stay longer than 90 days you can play their game. Here's what I do. I stayed there for about 2 months and 27-28 days. I go to Albania (I was born and raised there) anyway but you can go to Turkey or Albania, both countries are NOT in European Union stay for a day or two. Stomped your passport and enter back to Greece for another 90 day and you're good to go. I'm an American citizen. Have houses in Greece and that's the way I do it. Enjoy and Thank me later!
