This is my favorite dog park to take my 8 month old pup. She loves this place! The park is located on the northwest side of Standley lake and has beautiful views of the lake and the mountains. The park is huge (i read that it’s 420 acres!) with many walking trails and less packed then other off leash areas in town (Chatfield and Cherry Creek). There are two main entrances, each with a sizable parking lot (located at 10499 Simms St. and 11610 W. 100th Ave). The entrance at Simms St is also close to a creek that runs along the north side of the park. It’s a great place to start and let your dog dry off on the walk after. I waited to take her until I felt comfortable with her under voice command. The fencing around the park is not dog proof which is something to be aware of when bringing dogs here.

Amazing dog park. It can be crowded at popular times but as long as you can find parking it’s big enough you can find less crowded areas. As others have mentioned it’s not securely fenced and even if it was it would be easy for a dog to take off and be out of sight. This is a particularly good spot to get pics of your dogs too. One note I noticed someone posted seeing a rattlesnake. In maybe 10+ years of going to this park I am aware of one instance my dog and I ran into a rattlesnake. It was pretty far back on a trail; I never saw it but I heard it and my dog jumped. It was a relief to know my dog knew not to tangle with one.

LOVE this place - amazing spot to take your dog if she/he won't immediately run off. The river running during the summer is a blessing for my little boarder collie. I will say that the fencing around the park is one that a dog could easily get out of - so just be sure that your furry friend won't run off.

Excellent spit to try out Wyatt's first off leash walking abilities. The trails through the fields were a super great place for him to run and explore while keeping an eye out to make sure I didn't leave him. Everyone that encountered was …

The stream that runs across the open space flows from May to August so that is an option during summers. I have not seen the pond fill up over the last 2 years so not sure about that.
Creek has water for a short time span in the summer, usually dries up by August.
I try to go early to avoid them but I do see them every year especially the further back I go.
Not ours. We've taken her there every Sunday for about a month now. Hope your pup is well.
I would think so --i definitely would. Your dog just might get distracted by the crowd of dogs mentioned below. Trails are wide with plenty of room to go around when you're closer to parking lot, still mostly double track when you get a mile or two out.
You do not have to have your dog leashed as long as it is under control. Feel free to keep your critter leashed as well
