I stayed in the program for about a month. My experience here was The absolute worst. Bullying, gossip, and intentional antagonization from staff every time they saw me.They would act as if they couldnt hear me when I know they could. They put me with a racist roommate, whom they knew was racist because they addressed it it in one of the classes. She was stealing my belongings from me and using them, taking pictures of my personal items as well as my personal identification. I made staff aware as well as the program manager and caseworker of my concerns before anything took place. I confronted my roommate DIRECTLY TO HER FACE about her behavior respectfully. She was clearly not capable of having a civilized conversation. my interactions with her was minimal during my stay at UGM.She continued stealing my belongings and started spreading lies throughout the shelter about me. The last straw was the stealing of my hygiene items. Confronted her while staff was there witnessing this woman use racial slurs and push me. I did not touch her nor did I use any racial slurs I left out for work. The next morning I was asked to leave even though I did nothing wrong in this situation. Case worker nor program director tried to work with me on the situation (they were very much aware of my roommates behavior )and still chose to kick me out. I was treated wrong here. I will never forget my stay here. How I was treated was less than human I pray no other person goes through what I went through here.

A Very Great Place for Life Changes💯The classes are wonderful💯 They get to the root of the problems.. So you don't repeat them.. Nice and clean as well.. The rooms are great.. Y'all will sleep in peace.. It's like living in a College Dorm.. I call this place the College for the Minds/Lifestyle.. I am Truly Blessed to be at UGM💯💯💎 Big Up's to all the stuff that works here..

I had the opportunity to stay at the UGM back in 2006. I gained so much from that stay which lasted about 4 . months. I will never forget the kindness the generosity and the respect that was shown to all the women that were there. These people (mostly volunteers) have truly hearts of gold. If you ever find yourself in need of love, support, kindness beyond measure in a spiritual atmosphere.UNITED GOSPEL MISSION is the place to be.

UGM has definitely blessed me in so many ways. I had the mindset when I entered the program November 19th to change my life and begin a new journey. From day one I followed all the rules and guidelines, went to classes, worked as house keeping for 3months. As of now I am officially a UGM employee as a janitor. I received my housing voucher, rebuilding relationships, so much more. My new journey of life is looking very bright. The staff is very respectful, caring, considerate of others and such a blessing to be a part of UGM staff member. What you put in is what you'll get back. I am proof. GOD BLESS YOU

Yes sir they do! If you are a resident in the program they serve at 11:20 a.m.. If you're a walk-in off of East Lancaster you need to be here around 11 they go to Chapel and then they serve lunches to the homeless community from the outside inside of our cafeteria
The overnight shelter is not for children though . Only for women. Go to Salvation Army tonight and then tomorrow around 10 go back to Union Gospel Mission and tell them you want to attend the orientation for family and Children's programs Presbyterian night shelter also has and women and children's shelter also I think they have a waiting list.
I think 8am to 5pm at mission office
I believe so! Call the Union Gospel and ask for the front desk at the Scott Walker women's building. Someone should be able to walk you through what you need to do to get in the Resident program! Good luck!
Look up the Center for Transforming Lives, you already have a job, go stay in a shelter & be put on a housing list the transforming lives helped me & my kids get an apartment. It was a blessing. God bless you!!
Honest they told me exactly at 9am because last time I called
Yes it's a program for 6 months to up to a year, depending on your situation, I was there for 14 months, unless they changed it recently, but I would suggest calling up there to gather more information
The bus station is right infront of the shelter. I have no idea about the 15 dollars. You will need to call to find out.
Yes
I do believe that they will let you stay a night or two
This 1 is hard to say. But the PNS was whenever you have need and it's around the area. Salvation army was 10 days unless you got a waiver to stay longer. 🖖
No they do not allow sex offenders at the mission. There are a few apartment complexes that will rent to offenders. One is just to the eastside of downtown on east 3rd. Or 4th across from the old grain cylo.
I think I understand your question. If you are asking if UGM will help you by gifting you furniture and delivering it to you, the answer is yes. You have to go up there and fill out some paperwork and see a case manager though.
If you don't have a job, you can work there to cover you. Once you get a job then you'll pay to stay there. Don't know how much it is as I was there 9 years ago. As far as rehab, you need to do that first before getting into UGM . Tell them you want to get into rehab and they'll help you out on that. As far as length of time, I've never known them to have any time limit on staying there. The goal is to put money back so you can get a place of your own. They will help with items for your apartment. Call them up and they'll help you out. Good luck...
Everyone I've known to go there interviewed for a longer stay.
I'd suggest women volunteers would be better off working in women's shelters. I've only seen men at the UGM.
Go to orientation to find out more info about it. Dont let an amount of money keep you from getting help they will work with you and help you get resources to get a job if you are not working. They work with you the first month or so but the 182 is the program fee. And its worth it. They offer many amazing programs to help you with what you are going through so you can live ypur best life in the future.
Large Donations are accepted M-F, 9am - 4pm at the Donation center. Food and small items are accepted between 8am - 9pm, 7 days a a week at the Family Center. All of these are on E Lancaster. There is someone on duty at the Family Center 24/7/365.
If u are workiing or have income coming in,its 182. If u dnt then u have to do skills building which is basicly working for ur room and board
Yes. They somewhat are or do! :if yo7 follow their own strict program
What about women
1:45 for women. Get there early. They only have 16 beds that are by lottery if there's more than 16 ladies trying to get in. It is the cleanest and safest of the shelter's on Lancaster.
Of the 3 shelters in town ( Union Gospel Mission, Salvation Army, and Presbyterian Night Shelter), Union Gospel Mission is the best one to stay at. I did stay there while getting a job and put money back for an apartment. They will help you with items for the apartment when you are ready to move out. The Mission does offer many programs for men women and families. Call them and ask what they have to offer.
1:45 is time for women to be in to ask draw numbers for beds 16 beds available for women or nights at 1 45 p.m. need to be standing in line by 1:30 to get overnight overnight only that is 10 a.m. is the women's orientation supposed to be there by 9:45 a.m. for staying as a resident
1321 east Lancaster ave. Union Gospel Mission Come at 800 am monday thru friday. $182.00.a.month. Or they will work something out with you. You may have a short waiting list but being pregnant i would think you would get in pretty quick. Its a really good place
They have a 30 day program to get you on your feet. Yes you should be able to see your fiance at dinner and church and when they let out during the day.
If you are a minor you can go to a QT and ask for a safe place to stay from one of their clerks, and they will call a special shelter for young people.
You apply while you there the waiting list can be a year but they have other housing programs
The warehouse
Yes i believe so
Program is about 2 yrs long. You get in by checking in for a bed every day about 3pm. Once they decide you're a good candidate, they move to the main living quarters.
Everyone must wear masks, we wore rubber disposable gloves and handled put food ànd water soup. Kept 6 gf distance.
Yes is the answer to all your questions
There are no overnight Services as of now at UGM except for women and children
Yes they are, whatever you bring just goes into a freezer for 72 hours
You asked 2 questions & made 1 statement. The first answer is there is a process they call intake for new residents. Depending on days off & people out etc. the intake days vary. The next day & time will be posted on the front door. They only take 4-5 a day from the first in line. I would be there before 8:30. You can get a free breakfast between 6:30-7. It's not bad. When you do start intake you will learn their requirements. The other answer is UGM is not actually looking for workers etc. The jobs are part of the residency requirements. In exchange for room, all meals, laundry and counseling services you either pay $190/month or work at the mission 20 hours/week. The jobs are easy and you are given a $15 gift at weeks end. I don't know about residency requirements. I stayed at UGM-TC 2 years and it is not perfect but pretty darn close.
Yes they will do their best to help you with your License and help you out with daily employment opportunities as well. God bless you Sir
They have a single women's program. A single man's program and a family program and it's a year program.
Yes they do but you may want to call and ask about what you are donating because they take donations for a specific group of people for specific reasons.😊
No.
No they are not, it's a homeless shelter for humans.
Yes
Honestly I'm not sure. Sorry I can't be of more help. Please call them and they will help.
I never owned a car while i resided at the mission. I do know that there is a free parking garage in the Eddie V's reastaurant building where 7th street comes into Camp Bowie. You would still have that commute to and from although.
30 days maybe 20 for males; of showing up ON-TIME (3-4pm). Then you can become a resident. Approx$180 per month, or volunteer work at the UGM
Not sure depends on the capacity. You can see the case manager M-F @ 7am.
Those I have heard about go for an interview. The actual intakes seem to take place starting about 7 AM.
Yes just go to intake/orientation at 7:30am. and talk to case manager. Of course you will need check Stubs.
Yes and thank you!
If you are employed outside of ugm no, if you are on skill building (working at ugm) then you get a 15$ gift every week.
Yes
It is best to be there about 4 or 430 at the latest.
What would u like to know?
You will need to call them directly to see if they need you.
Yes they do feed just about anyone
I've never known them to do that. But it's been 9 years since I was last there. Things, could've changed since that time. Please call them to verify this is possible.
I work at UGM-TC. Go to our website and select the volunteer tab in the menuz fill out your information and our volunteer coordinator wilo contact you.
No you don't have to. As long as the clothes are clean and need no mending, they're highly appreciated.
8:30 am the wharehouse is open
One family per room. And you can leave as early as 5am if you need to. But there isnt a set time where you have to leave during the day. They have classes you can take and meals to attend. And computers to looks for jobs. They have skill building as well. Hope this helps. If you are a resident you can stay all day if you want. Bit if you have things you have to do or work ect you can leave when ever you need to. Just have to be back for curfew.
He would have to come in at 7:30 am, M-F to see if he would qualify for the residence program. Address is 1331 E. Lancaster Fort Worth.
UGM IS A GREAT PLACE TO GET A FRESH START . IT'S CLEAN & THEY CARE FOR THER RESIDENTS .
Call them
No its like a public bathroom i believe
Yes..they do help with home or apartment vouches iam waiting now myself..and i only been here 1month..but instill then they house's u and feed u ..yes its GOOD here..in my eyes..😊
Besides union gospel mission, also call salvation army on e. lancaster.
You definitely want to contact the facility especially this time of year it can be busy it is on a case-by-case basis
Yes they will
It just depends on your situation they do things on a case-by-case basis
As long as you are a legally married couple then yes they do take intact families.
Yes
Call Union Gospel and they will give you all the information if you qualify.
Yes but the Dec located in the flag building has more resources and ft worth housing authority is there twice a week
If you have proof of marriage and children under 16 and not a sex offender, you will not be separated plus availability of beds at the time....
It takes time to get into their program. Salvation Army will take you and your kids overnight till you get situated but UGM has no overnight dorm for families.
Unfortunately all couples are separated in all of the shelters. They don't give you the same case manager.
True Worth offers case management which can be very helpful in finding the resources you need.
Once you get in Tarrant County will pay your rent, If you need a place right now you can go to the Presbyterian Night Shelter. It's free and they will help you get on your feet.
U.G.M. Warehouse accepts donations Mon. thru Fri. from 8 a.m. untill 4 p.m..
I gave up on Union Gospel Mission a long time ago.
If you really need help, Union Gospel Mission is a good choice. I went into the resident program stayed 1 year. There are Social Workers, Case Managers, Housing Programs, Job Placement Assistance, and much more. The staff are a concerned and caring group of good people who want nothing more than to see U.G.M. residents move on to better quality life than what they arrived with. And I would encourage anyone who is facing difficulties to get over there and get help.
Intakes are at 10:00 Mon through Fri. And if you want to get in for overnight you have to be there by 1:00.
Yes Union gospel is a great place for you family. My other suggestion is the salvation Army of ft worth . Good luck . I JUST got off the streets.
No, its better to call 211, red cross, catholic charities, salvation army.If you know any evacuees, they have gone through enough and don't need to stay in a hellhole like union gospel mission or Presbyterian night shelter.
You can only eat and stay there if you have a id card provided by the T.C.H.C. Better to try salvation army
