Highly recommend their cakes. I came here to get a kosher cake for a party for a coworker. I called ahead, but they don’t allow cake ordering in advance. I arrived 9:50am before they open at 10am on Fridays. The line was already six people deep. Their cake case had some great options, and three of us in line were there for cakes. I got a 6” vanilla cake with chocolate frosting that easily served 8+ people with plenty to spare. They were happy to add writing on the cake. The woman before me had a more complicated message in both English and Hebrew, which they were also able to do. Upon request, they added a few kosher stickers to seal the box. Overall highly recommend Blacker’s. Easy to find, and the website is helpful for explaining any closures for holidays or personal events.

Blackers Bake Shop is not only a great place to work but the people, the products and the commitment to "giving back" are amazing. Weekly repeat customers give it a real family community. The challah is best ever. The rolls, egg and tea, are a standard in my house. Made daily! The rugulah, cookies and bubka are irresistible. They have so many more delicious and different products. Don't take my word for it. Come in and you'll become a weekly customer as well

Highly recommend them for cakes! Got our son's first birthday cake and couldn't be happier. Everyone loved the taste and it looked beautiful. Anne is exceptionally talented. Glad that there exists such an amazing establishment. Will be ordering every year.

They don't let you in the store at all. You have to wait in line to either pick up your order or make an order. People do a good job at spacing.
Yep! They have plenty every day. You can also order/call ahead and they will put an order together for you.
Hi. We can not put our babkas through our slicer because it makes the blades sticky.
Nobody uses transglutaminase as a yeast substitute. They serve different purposes. Transglutaminase is used to strengthen gluten (make the dough stretchier, so it gets a better rise.) That said, I'd be extremely surprised if they use transglutaminase.
