NON ETHICAL INDIVIDUALS THAT THINK THAT THE COMMUNITY THAT THEY SERVE COULD NEVER BE IN THE POSITION TO HELP THEM!! THE IGNORANCE.. THE LACK OF WORK ETHIC.. THE VIOLATION OF MANY POLICIES IS RIDICULOUS.. ALWAYS KEEP DOCUMENTS .. ALWAYS WRITE DOWN WHO YOU SPEAK TO AND HAVE a witness.

The Albany housing authority should be investigated for creating a backlog of applicants who need and are qualified for housing. They just sent my brother who applied for subsidized housing a letter with a deadline. In this letter, they wanted him to write his info and to send it back to them. The issue is the place they mentioned is a non subsidized place, and they were so imbecilic in stating that in the letter. The question is why would they send this knowing full well he only applied to subsidized housing. The other issue is even if he doesn't qualify for this place, which he doesn't, then what would of happen if he hadn't filled the paperwork requested... He more than likely would have his application thrown away. You see folks, this is how these incompetent people create backlog of cases, putting people out in the streets while hoodlums quickly and expeditiously get housing.

The Whole Matinance department sucks from the persons answering the phone to the workers!! If having no hot water isn’t an emergency then let me turn your hot water off and see how you would like that. It takes someone to come unlock this closet door and flip a switch and me and my kids have to wait to the next day. I figured them out the emergency is if they property is being damaged and that’s bad no hot water stops a lot a whole flight of stairs and 3 bodies to bathe whose boiling and carrying water up and doing all that. Unlock the door and flip a switch that’s all it requires and I called 2 hours before the office closed cause that’s when I came in from work and realized it was no hot water. In the case of a flood I will not call them until I’m ready I might not be available to call 😐

Not really. It tends to go fast especially when people forget to update their app and get sent to the bottom of the list. When I was close to that number I got in after maybe a year and a half. Which isn't bad compared to the 5 years some people wait.

My brother has section 8 and lives in an apt by on 361 Washington Ave Albany. He has had no heat elec in bathroom for over 6 months. It is infested with flies and roaches. Water heater flooded his apt 3weeks he had his apt floor 1/2 foot deep water before anyone came to help him last year. All his furniture was destroyed. He has been living there for 3 years in a apt that requires multiple repairs. The health depth need to come do an inspection and document the deplorable living condition. He was on the hospital last year. Some one kicked in his door and robbed him of everything he owned. Now he has a $150. Month payment to rent a center on a overly priced tv. He was missing two windows that the building shifted and they fell out. I cannot ever seem to get a return call to a case worker from housing. section 8 I have photos for the documentation of the unlivable condition he is forced to live in. 1 year for first time, after that you can move if you dont sign a list. But you have to do a note with one month early.
