Whilst I got an upgrade, which was very nice, the car they gave me was nearly empty of gas. The low gas warning came on when is started my first trip after driving from the airport to an airport hotel. The car was not clean either. When i called Avis they told me to take a picture of the fuel gage which I did nut they never asked for it when I turned the car in 4 days later. I hope they won't try and charge me for a full tank!

WILL WALK BEFORE RENTING FROM AVIS! We picked up our car and after driving two hours realized the plates are expired the front tires are completely bald with threads showing and the turn signal was not working. How do they let a car like that go out? Called Avis emergency service line and was told a new car would be delivered that evening. It never came. Got a call at 10:30 the next morning to bring the new car and take the old. The NEW CAR ALSO HAD EXPIRED PLATES!!!!!!!! I turned it in and had to pay $427 for the time I had a car that was legally not fit to drive. Asked for a full refund and was told I would have to call Avis customer service after 24 hours to ask for the refund. Called and was told they would give 50% refund. Talked to supervisor and finally got full refund. To summarize I was given an illegal and unsafe to drive car; spent 6 hours on the phone trying to resolve the situation; finally gave up and turned it in; got charged $427; had to spend another hour on the phone to get a refund. Unbelievable!

We were pleased with the rental we received however when reserving it we were shown getting a Chevy Malibu. We received a Toyota Camry. It was very nice but it never stated there to be a deposit when paying with credit or debit card. And when finalizing the agreement I was never told or notified there would be an additional fee for deposit. After leaving with the rental car I noticed on my banking app we were in fact charged over $200.00 more than I signed for or was gone over on in pricing and when to return. I still was never told about a deposit or when or if it would be refunded. I returned the rental on Friday night and still haven’t not heard or seen a refund. I would love to recommend this place and say I would rent again from them however that is a big ding when not expected. And having trouble reaching a person to speak with about it. Nice customer service face to face though so I did like that very much.

The rental process was very fast. It also added points to my American airlines rewards. Before I rent the next car I will ask if it has a navigational system. This car did not have one. I think cars without navigational systems are dangerous especially in the city where you do not know your destination.
