I love hertz but this was my 1st time renting at this location.. I was kinda irritated that I reserved a standard compact vehicle.. and when I get there they say we gave you a free upgrade to a jeep... I mean if it was a year or 2 ago ok but now with gas prices I really wasnt happy but they really had nothing else to give me so I had to take it very inconvenient for me. Because they probably helped out another customer and gave them my vehicle or maybe extended someone else's rental but still wasnt too happy about this. Because overall I had to pay more to fill it up.

it was fine. it was a cheap cargo van rental. had to drive from SF to get this vehicle type after the Ellis St SF location failed to have our vehicle available, though the reservation was made the months in advance. the van we rented was dirty, but didn't get a hassle returning it in the same condition. the people were nice and provided helpful advice about paying tolls.

I had to get a long term rental while my car was getting warranty work done. They seemed friendly at first but the only vehicle they had available had some damage and they told me I could exchange it after the weekend. The first replacement vehicle was nice but had some transmission issues so I brought it back to exchange it again. The next vehicle had a slow leak in the left rear tire and when I returned it I noticed they had marked it as full tank of gas but it only had 3/4ths tank when I picked it up (lesson learned, check before leaving) and they refused to acknowledge the discrepancy. The last vehicle I got, again had less gas then they had marked but the staff member refused to acknowledge it was off and I didn't have time to argue because I was going to be late to take my mother to her radiation treatment. At this point I called their customer service line to see if I could return it to another location because I am being taken advantage of. The CS told me I could but I would incur a surcharge for changing location and that my rental rate could change. Each vehicle I got after the first was a downgrade from the previous in terms of features which felt like they were punishing me for pointing out issues in their product. Overall this experience has taught me not to go to Hertz ever again and I would give 0 stars if I could...

The worse car rental company I’ve ever been to. Made a reservation online, walked in and was rudely told they had no cars available. I was with a child and it was pouring rain. They offered no resolution and just brushed me off. The manager came out and I could just tell how unhappy this woman is and how bad she is at her job. She was rude and also told me there was nothing they could do about it. I asked them why they hadn’t called to let me know they didn’t have cars and they said “we were busy”. Literally no on in this office. Terrible service overall.

I rent whatever vehicle is available at the time I arrive or when I make a reservation, I will ask what vehicles are available & to reserve what I want.
