The voice of reason
As a customer I am very satisfied and thankful for thrifty. Not only with the car rental very affordable but they were very kind and helpful. I worked with the thrifty car rental by the Sacramento Airport. What's nice is there one of the few if not the only car rental service that allows you to use a debit card instead of a credit card. Also, they asked if I would be happy in my compact because I'm a pretty big guy at 6'3. Neelan asked me if I wanted to upgrade. I politely declined because I did not have the money to do so. She said we will see what we can do for you. She got me into an amazing and beautiful Honda Accord. At no extra cost just to make sure I was comfortable. If that's the kind of service that thrifty car rental provides, I will be a continuous customer in the future. Thank you very much Jeremy

Having worked in the travel industry for 5 years, I have never waiting this long for a car. They were understaffed and the staff didn't care at all. They were slow to check people in, slow to bring keys out when they had them, and not apologetic at all. I waited in line for over an hour then another 45 minutes just to get the car. It was not worth saving a little money.

Made a reservation online. Waited in line for about an hour and half. Waited about another hour and half for them to have the car available. Idk if it was because a holiday weekend or whatever. But if they know their gonna have all these reservation already they should be ready with the cars. A saw a few ppl cancel their reservations while they waited because the wait was to long and just book with another rental car place there. I would had cancel also but I already had prepaid when I made the reservation. Never again!

BEWARE! You will be waiting in line for 1-2 hours even if you book in advance. Car won’t be ready for another hour even if you have a reservation. I’ve learned my lesson. Will never be booking with Thrifty again. This is a complete joke. Welcome to Cali!

Call Thrifty and talk to them to add a car seat to your Order. If they do not rent car seats, they will let you know. But I am pretty sure they do.
Yes, it's quite close by and they have several shuttle bussing running constantly.
The office is closed at that time but they have a drop off box and special lane for parking. They told me you are responsible for the car until they open and look at the car. I'd suggest taking pictures of the car just in case. I had an early flight and dropped off the night before, stayed in a local hotel and used hotel transportation directly to the airport the next morning. Honestly, the rental car location requires a shuttle to the airport. I felt it was too risky for that early of a fight. Hope that helps.
You do not necessarily have to inform them, BUT you may incur an early return charge of +/- $25 or so depending on how soon you return it. I returned my Thrifty rental early by one day and called ahead to verify whether there was any issue to returning early, and I was told that I can incur a charge of $25 for early return.
