I’m not exactly a fan of the police because I’ve had bad experiences because of crimes neighbors have committed against me, my family, and my property, and a handful of police officers made me feel unsafe and that my life was in danger, but they responded fast when I had some serious issues with several family members. I have no photos to share.

Just a question, just saw a video of deputy pushing a man with a camera to be a little further away ( yes I know Officer safety) but my question is this deputy had no name tag on or badge number, and when asked for it he waved and drove away. I don’t live in your town but is this how you treat taxpayers that annoy you? Just a question.

Has the Executive Branch of this police dept. informed their officers on the 2010, or the revised 2018 DHS Memo on Public Photography yet? Why do your officers think they can go hands on and demand taxpayers sit on the curb like Dogs when no crime has been committed? Your officers claim reasonable suspicion, but always leave out the, "Of A Crime" part. Maybe a DOJ complaint, or better yet a DOJ Investigation needs to be initiated. DO BETTER! UPHOLD YOUR OATH TO THE CONSTITUTION!

Wow wow wow. I’m speechless. I hired a contractor and went to rent a car for him at the Budget car rental located at the airport. I paid with my credit card to cover the car for a week. He then went and called budget, extended the car for another month without my consent and used my credit card that’s on file. I contacted the contractor and he refused to return the car. He’s asking for an amount of money or he won’t return the car. This is extortion and fraud in my opinion. I called the police and they said they cannot do anything as this is “civil”. You’re telling me this is civil and you have someone with that mentality driving around car with a car that’s potentially stolen?? You’re telling me that someone unstable like that will not be stopped from driving around with the potential of hurting people or children, all that is ok and civil? You can’t even get a police report to provide to credit card company and car rental? I just moved to Oxnard from NYC and certainly used to police being of authority and helping with stolen vehicles and some fraud cases. This doesn’t feel right or safe to me. Finally an officer was kind enough to notate this. Now it’s my job to search for this vehicle that I didn’t approve and that’s in my name. Oxnard is definitely not the place where I imagine my kids or loved ones to leave. Not to mention, I own a multimillion dollar business and a 2 million dollar home and this is how my tax money gets used here. This is the biggest disappointment. Already miss nyc and how cops actually get things done there. Welcome to Oxnard

If you want to be a SWAT officer with Oxnard Police Department, you have to be a patrol officer for 2 years before you can apply. You will need to be in top physical condition and make good decisions.

We are sorry to hear about your experience. I wonder if maybe the system was down. I just checked the website on a desktop and a mobile phone and they are working correctly: www.oxnardpd.org When you open up the OPD webpage on desktop, look to the top of the page under the title "Oxnard Police Department" there are 2 red boxes that read in English and Spanish "File a Police Report". This will start the process to begin filling out the report. When you open up the OPD webpage on a mobile device, scroll down and after the Message from the Chief, click on the picture with the dispatcher it says "Report a Crime", scroll down and click on the blue letters that read "Using the Oxnard Police Department Police Online Citizen Reporting System you can report the following incidents:" This will start the process to begin filling out the report. If there are any other questions or issues pertaining to filing a report, please call Records at (805) 385-7650. Thank you.

Please provide a more specific location. Aside from having our officers perform extra patrols, the information you provide can be passed on the the beat team in charge of the area and they may be able to come up with a more permanent solution.

At what age do I let my 12 year old (not mature) hold my 6 year old hand and let them walk near by a busy street next to St. John Hospital (E. Gonzales Rd and Williams Dr) ??? There is a reason why I’m asking this and asap I will explain?

Yvonne Luis | Sep 1, 2018
Oxnard Police Department | Sep 1, 2018

Really it is up to you as a parent. Usually at that age they are old enough for those types of responsibilities. If you say they are not mature, I would say not to let them do so until you believe they are mature enough.

Same. The Wells Fargo in Oxnard is notorious for using my private information. Why do I need social security card to open a bank account? Really sketchy.

Need this question answered too. All I know is you get the passport from the post office by waiting in the long line at the post office where the bus drops you off. I am not sure if you can do it online but I hope so, those lines be miles long.

Why don’t police Officers Patrol La Colonia often?

Jayden | Sep 1, 2019
Wertia Dreams | Aug 31, 2021

Lot of young people starting their careers in colonia making dumb mistakes. I think it has to do with a lot of officers being born and raised in Oxnard and knowing first hand the people living in Colonia. Prison complex is corporate greed and I think the police officers are honest enough to know they'll just be feeding into a moronic system. You can see this all the time in bodycam footage through FOIA. I am not a police officer just my opinion

It is a shame that our police dept. Lets these people who refuse to obey the law and keep lighting of fireworks , Our animals have been scared and shaking every night. I have called police they have came here and the ones lighting them said it was u

Wayne Jordan | Sep 1, 2018

Same but I sympathize and envy them. I think fireworks are a constitutional protected right for freedom of expression. When officers are sworn they take an oath to defend the constitution no matter what. Fireworks are only restricted on a local level and those who enforce it are violating the constitution no matter how you see it even if it is in a little way and it will only be a matter of time before it snowballs into chaos. You either enforce it or you don't. It's only banned to 'prevent wildfires' but I'd like to think that's the cost of freedom. My opinion .

I had an ex steal my computer ( MacBook) , iPad , Apple TV, all of my electronics, all my charging cords, and my mail. And he won’t give them back to me. I’m without a car right now. Is it possible to have the police go and get them from him?

Vincent Cefalu | Aug 31, 2021
cMe Squirt | Aug 31, 2021

I'm not sure. I was kidnapped and carjacked. Everything I owned was in my car. OPD recovered my car Jan 17. I was not notified. They had it towed to "Police impound." I did not find out until I called to follow up with them, on Jan 27. According to the owner of the tow company my car is essentially empty. Everything gone including the key fob. I am from out of state. I traveled all the way there to be told that I OWE $1096 to the 'police impound" for towing and storing my car! Turns out police impound is PRIVATELY OWNED. When OPD was called, I was told it was not their problem. That it was a private, therefore Civil, matter. They said I'd have to pay whatever the owner wanted to charge me or sue him. When I explained I had lost EVERYTHING I had. OPD suggested that I apply for welfare for the money. *Sorry, for the LONG, bitter, answer. A better answer is: You will probably have to file a police report re: your stolen property. It may turn it to be Civil. In which case, they won't help

How do i press charges against someone who stole from me

Gary Richard | Sep 1, 2018
Wertia Dreams | Aug 31, 2021

Small claims court. I think that's a civil thing but I don't know. Luckily Ventura County has their database online, only like 294 ish out of the 3,000 counties have their small claims search online. I don't think you file the civil report online. You can see similar civil cases by typing in a random generic name and a calendar date and you can see what your odds are. I seen one small claims where a dude filed against someone for 0.00 dollars just to waste someone's time, of course it was denied by a judge. Very interesting

I want to know why it takes so long for cops to come when u call them

Linda Estrella | Sep 1, 2018
Oxnard Police Department | Sep 1, 2018

Calls are dispatched by priority. It's like at the hospital. We have to triage: emergencies are dispatched first then the other calls. Depending on the day and time of day you call, it may take longer (Fridays after 10 p.m. are busier than Sundays before 11 a.m.). Rest assured that we will never delete calls. We go to every one.

Because they are soooooo busy. Don't blame them they are doing their best with WHO they have to deal with. Plus, I have not heard of any unarmed young black men being shot in the back as you hear of in other jurisdictions. Whew!! Sorry about being so long winded.
