Agreed to paying $329.99 for a daily rental and got charged for 2 days After engaging the company and the branch they still would not change charges. I had photo and video evidence with GPS tracking and time tracking on the source code showing I dropped the car off in appropriate condition prior to a first day end time. I ended up reporting them to my credit card company and the BBB. I have had 0 response from the branch and anything from corporate blames that specific branch in NC. I would avoid this specific branch like the plague.

If you have a choice, do not use Hertz. They are nothing but a greedy, unjust and uncaring company that will everything from you that they can. They forced me into a more expensive car upon my arrival at Wilmington North Carolina Airport. I had reserved my rental through Expedia for a mid-size car but upon arrival, but upon arrival, my choices were a Suburban or an Armada, both very large SUV’s. To make matters worse, Hertz charged me a second time for this rental. Now I have paid for this car twice, once through Expedia and now directly charge by Hertz. Since Hertz forced me into a large SUV, their charge was double the Expedia charge. In essence, I have now paid triple for this rental. To make matters worse, Hertz charged my credit card in someone else’s name. For months now, Hertz has done nothing to correct their mistake except to blame Expedia. They will not even respond back to me. Whatever you do, do not use Hertz for your rental car needs.

Rented a Compact from September 18 through 25, 2021. Got the rental through United Airlines Mileage Redemption(just made the cut off before United stopped Rental Car redemptions). My flight arrived on time and picked up the car without any delays. The car was clean and good to go. During the week, got a message about adding the no fill up option and accepted it. On the return, we arrived later than should have at the airport. First try to return the car, there was a line, so went to check in the bags and returned and difference customer seemed to be taking a lot of time with the counter person. Thankfully another counter person noticed I was returning keys and took them. Just got on the plane as we were told, technically, the plane was closed. At this point in time, no United Airlines redemptions available for rental cars. Read about other people having their rental cars not available or cars impounded all the while the parent company is going through bankruptcy. Hertz has the cheapest rates here, but will think about the risks.

When I first booked I had a four-door sedan rental when I ended up going to the counter to get the vehicle the receptionist told me that I had a free upgrade to an SUV, a GMC terrain. I enjoyed it. I was so excited that I was starting off my trip with a bang. The only thing I did not like was that if I had a debit card the company had to do a background check and to take out $500 to hold on to before my return. If I was going to put a card on file and it was a credit card they would take out $200 instead to hold until I return the rental that was the only thing that I did not like but thankfully I was able to find a credit card with that amount on it and I was able to sign a document and I went to the parking lot to retrieve the vehicle from space 14 and I was able to get out of the airport with no problem. The young lady that helped me was awesome with everything .I understood all she was saying and she made me feel at ease and comfortable with walking away knowing I could call her for anything else I needed. This rental for 9 days was about $420 and that rate at that particular time for that many days was great compared to all the other car rental companies.. trust me I saved about $400 going through Hertz.
