Its a beautiful area where you can go and be immersed in nature. Stay a short time, fish, have lunch or camp in one of the camp sites. Its free. Most folks are respectful and good, they clean up after themselves. Its great to leave the place better than you found it. I think most people do. I have seen moose, bear, deer and all sorts of little critters, birds, mammals,... the tiniest toads i have ever seen. If your looking for a smooth paved road, a flush toilet, a bumpersticker and a latte... dont bother coming here.

We’ve been coming here for years, and love it - except when the black flies and mosquitoes are out in full force! They’re unbelievable!

Probably one of the best "free" camp sites around. So much wildlife and nature. We even saw a bear on the way to our camp site! It was a peaceful experience and I plan on going back soon since I only live 35 min away.

Missed River plains primitive campsites. Great place to get out, and away from the city. State owned, free camping, with sites separated a good distance from each other. Most sites have a fire pit and an outhouse nearby. Quite and peaceful!

So.. anyone in Moose River Plains is not going to see this question. There is no cell service for ten miles past each side of the Plains.
Probably memorial weekend
