Great trail for a variety of terrain, some good ascents and descents. Mud in some areas. This trail may be challenging in parts for little children. A perfect trail for moderate hikers.

Difficulty: Blue Trail was a bit technical and difficult (Contains a Rock Scramble with a rope.) Yellow Trail was easy. Length: 4 hours round trip (Blue Trail up, Yellow Trail back with casual pace and a picnic at the summit) This was a beautiful trail and the views were fantastic. It was muddy (even though hadn't rained in a few days here). But, very manageable.

Very easy trip for the first 2.3 miles then the last tenth of a mile was a little steep and slippery but we all made it safely. Had a snack at the top and then a little rain but overall a great adventure. Very little traffic only saw 3 people the whole trip. Felt nice having the mountain to our self. We decided to take the left leg yellow marker at the split.

Not on the mountain. There's not much on the mountain other than people hiking and some crude foot bridges. There's a state campground about 10 minutes away by car to the trailheads for Black Bear and Rocky Mountains (both mountains share a parking area). See 8th Lake Campground. Pet friendly. I did a review on that one. Technically, you could hike from 8th Lake Campground to Black Bear via Bug Lake, but that would be a whole day of hiking. Horseback riding...if there is good stable, I haven't found it. There was one I checked out, but I was not impressed by the people running it. For example, I was in the barn and as they brought in a horse, the horse pinned me against a wall while being lead by the staff. Either they didn't see me, or they didn't care. I had to squeeze out of it. Just an overall "not OK" feeling.
