It is a magical place, especially as nightfall approaches. The whole place is filled with fireflies like fallen stars…it’s truly a hidden gem tucked away in the city. The fragrance garden and Japanese gardens are some must sees and if you time it right, the Gardens are a great place to listen to music and attend concerts. Everything about this place radiates peace and serenity and I will certainly go back to see more.

Super nice! Every time has different blooming and views. Strong suggested go early with a heavier breakfast. Definitely take enough time for rose garden and The Japanese garden. Warm houses are amazing too since with different environment plants.

A beautiful garden and well maintained. There is something for everyone. My favorite was Japanese Garden and Cherry Lane. So beautiful and serene. Though it was Early spring, but there were beautiful flowers. Greenhouse had variety of Orchids, and other tropical plants. It was a fun visit and I would surely want to visit again.

I had a lot of fun, despite being winter the place is beautiful for a walk with coffee. the indoors are very different and with a hot environment. The vegetation of the garden is beautiful. I can imagine spring when all those flowers bloom . highly recommended and just one block from the subway station in prospect park.

You can visit there indoor building to see a good exhibit about different plants for different weather conditions. Or just enjoy a nice walk to the Japanese pond and enjoy your day.
$15 for adults, but it's free on Tuesdays.
You cannot bring any outside food.
They provide an option to rent one of three designated areas (eg., Rose garden) before operating hours begin for a nominal, though not insignificant fee. This is a great option my wife and I took advantage of last summer. You get all the beauty of the garden without the BIG wedding trappings and cost. Call the garden's office for booking and pricing details
Towards the end of the month. They weren't in bloom last weekend.
I would wait until May and then check out the cherry trees on Roosevelt Island, specifically FDR Memorial Gardens (get off the subway and walk left until you hit the Park's entrance gate).
Friday mornings before noon free this summer season. Call to make sure. Not Saturdays
It depends on howmuch yine you have. You can walk leasurely for two to three hours. If you don't have that much time, you can do it in an hour.
